The TB Evo 6 is already financially secured :)

Hpi pinks-front/hpi silvers rear. Tire choice is important on the track.

I would think that spring combo would only work with Sorex tires and a thin insert. Have you made that work with spec tires before, Juan? I'd be curious to try that setup. Sounds like a ton of corner speed.
Thanks,
Jose

Should have used a smiley - wouldn't have thought anything less than a kit on your work bench hours after release!

Looking forward to your review!

No vbc shocks but I'm using the trf short dampers with ride big bore shorts.

That spring combo has been used for years with RP30's, jaco's & recently sweeps. And yes I drive cars with lots of steering in the spec classes.

I need to fit an 86t spur(or something near that) on my 418. What spur gears fit? The holes on kimbrough and precision don't allow the spur gear holder to go on correctly.

Hey Coach,
You can try and get an 88 in a panaracer / yokomo spur that small, personally i have not gone under a 96.

Panaracer or Kawada Super EX are a good fit but neither go down that small in 64p

What sort of FDR are you chasing that makes you look at a spur so small?

Thanks niznai, I meant only the hub carrier from Yokomo. Tamiya has now finally the new one can change as you want (Sides L/R) but not yet available in Germany so I ask for the Yokomo hub carrier.

Don't quote me on this one, but Yokomo used in the past (my car is an SD SSG) imperial size hingepins (inner and outer) whereas Tamiya used metric sizes (3mm inner /2.4mm outer) so I guess there might be a small difference if Yokomo kept its sizing all the way to the current cars, which I suspect it did (manufacturer's rarely change these little details perhaps to preserve their markets for parts). That is why I found it easier to use the whole suspension.

Last Sunday I had a club race at the Erdferkel (www.rc-erdferkel.de) and finished the race in 6 best lap of 15.7 sec. The first 3 went best times around the 15 sec. My own gear ratio was 4.8 with a 104 main gear and 40 pinion.

I'm the only one TRF driver. That's why I ask here what else I can change to get ran the 15.0?

Below is my setup sheet from the race.

The Car drives very well but not fast enough. Hope you can give some tip.

One Option I Change the oel from the gear diff to Muchmore 5000 and a higher main gear.

Where do you think you are losing out against the other drivers?

Top speed?
Cornering entry or exit?
Mid corner speed?

Need to work out where you are losing time before changing things.

How big/small/tight is the track? FDR of 4.8 does stand out as a *little* low but I'm comparing to my X20 which likes to run mid 5's.

Simmi 05-19-2014 06:48 AM

Thanks cplus, my Corner Speed is perfectly, Corner in or Corner out very well and in the mid to.

The Top Speed is critical because I lose 1,5 mph (german km).

4.8 seems pretty high for a 13.5 motor. I would jump down to a 4.5 and start going down from there. I wouldn't go down to agressive as I don't know what the muchmore motors are like. I know when I was running a Reedy Sonic V2 13.5 I was down around 4.1 with about 30 to 35 degrees of timing. The car definitely kept pace with all the 13.5s and had the same fast lap times as others on an extremely tight technical track.

That small of a size he would need rw spur gears. They come in white and fits the trf418
