Doesn't that body come with the large aero wing? If so, why did you choose not to mount it? I'd think that while running a 6.5t, you'd want that extra downforce.

I ordered a second one of these kits from HobbyKing with the Toyota 86 body (and supposedly a set of Ride R36 wheels) for $86 and am deciding if I should use the aero wing.

5mm is the standard. But if you are just bashing around outside with full foam tires, 7mm will save your chassis bottom and keep your drivetrain efficient (cvd's more parallel to the ground).

As mentioned above, a wing will help you control that low turn motor.

Have fun, and let us know how it goes!

Just finish building mine and can only get it to 5.5 in the front and 6.5 in the rear
collars all the way up

Because you are running un-cut foam tires, the ride height will be off.

Those foam tires are 1mm smaller diameter than the stock rubber tires that it came with?

Interesting.

Another guy posted about a dozen pages back about having the same issue with ride height. After re-checking everything, he found that something was incorrectly built. How long are your shocks?

For me its the same, standard ride height was about 8-9mm with everything corresponding to the manual. If I set everything as low as possible I end up abou 5-6mm front and rear...

Hi rod. Hope all is going well at the big race.

Raising the rear roll center will help the back of the car slide out of a turn, which simulates oversteer.

But I'm familiar with the curling rink, and what I would do with my car is get more front traction to turn tighter.

- increase your dual rates
- lots of tire sauce in the front

Good luck and have fun tomorrow.
