I'm thinking of getting this car for my sons to drive occasionally. Can xray t4 parts be used as spares or would I need to carry 3racing parts for spares?

I have used xray c-hubs, but have not tried knuckles. Not sure about the arms.

I did a 10.6 and a fast guy did 10.4 consistently with my little xi. Nobody can beleave it...
Specially since the batt, servo, esc goes for 105$

Someone gave me some double joint drive shafts and it made me save a few tenths.

You got the turnigy trackstar 80amp set up right? How low did you put your timing for the motor?

Since I had 48P, I am using a 75T spur and 38T pinion.
Timing on the 17.5 Turnigy is past max. I ground the tabs inside the motor. I guess it's around 3-4 notches past max timing and it stays cool enough

Great work Alex!

That set is fine. I have used it on my mini in the past. I can make a recommendation, but more important is: now that you are comfortable with your car, what aspect would you like to change?

- still traction rolling?
- is the car pushing into turns now?
- are you lifting your inside wheels during high speed turns?

With this in mind, we can better recommend options for you.

With that said, the most similar setup to my car would likely be purple in the back and either blue or gold in the front.

Nice good to know. I just picked up the 21.5 set up for usgt. I might pick up a 17.5 also since i been hearing good things. I read its pretty much a reedy sonic motor.

Yup still traction rolling but very seldom. I will shim 3mm when i get one of my orders in for now 1mm with lots of CA...lol
My inside rear wheel lifts and sometime will do a spectacular traction roll. Mostly at the end of the straight in the high speed turn.
One thing i will try again is to slow my steering servo by about 10%. Then stiffer springs in the front and more shims.

The car pushes into the turn? What do you mean? It seems easy enough to drive
I put the 1.5mm swaybars in front and 1.4mm in tbe back

I have found 2 main cures for traction rolling (however this is based on no other setup problems):

1) put a thin layer of CA glue around the outer wall of the tires. start with a thin line and widen it if necessary.
2) this is usually works more often. reduce the amount of droop in the car.

Also make sure your dual rates are turned down to the point that you can make the corners nicely, but not more. If the front wheels overturn, they will bite the track and cause traction rolling, too.

Well since I broke a top deck and wanted to try to stiffen things up a bit, I made a stiffer top deck out of 1/16th alu plate.
We'll see if it improves anything??

BTW I just love the pink in conjunction with the rainbow colored zip ties, it make me feel all fuzzy inside
