I ran a couple of TT02's on the weekend - torque motor on nimh with standard gearing and stock motor cover got burning hot just in training mode!
But a silver can on 2s lipo with lower gearing (20t pinion) without that little top vent-shaped cover didn't seem to get that hot...

Interesting.

That's good information. Thanks.

What's the average build time start to finish for a kit? How long is it taking to build with a box stock setup?

3 hours for building the car box stock.

5 hours for painting and stickering the body like the car's picture on the box.

Hello all!
My son wants to enter tamiya championship series next year
The class he consider to enter is gt class (TT only) so choices are only among all TTs with only tamiya hop ups allow, no other brands

If I got to choose among all TTs series, which one that I have to buy?
I think beside a good basic performance TT, its got to have the most complete hop up available from tamiya so we can pump up its ability (that's only my opinion though)
Any opinions and suggestions are greatly appreciated
Thank you :)

I think the best value for money will definately be the new TT-02S version that will be released very soon.
It's more tunable cause of the other suspension arms and FRP damper stays.
That would be my choice if i would start with a TT-0... chassis.
Here is a link that shows the new version

With the new tt02s I'm guessing in time companies like YR will probably make the same extra parts featured in the new variation

Im very interested with this kit mainly for the body. Gonna paint it box art style. Loving the old school 911.:) But if I'll be racing it, will be buying the TT-02 Type S chassis too.

Keep in mind that extra parts from companies like YR etc... aren't allowed
for the TCS only Tamiya Hop ups are
Using anything but Tamiya parts could get your son DQed before he hits the track for his first time

My all time preferred body is a tamiya nsx 2003 or 2005 light weight body.
They are one of the best body's tamiya has produced.
Allthough i also like the Ferrari 458 body set but it's a rather heavy body but also a stronger/thicker body.

miles514 09-27-2014 03:41 PM

I will check them out, Thanks!;)

If you look at the existing tt01/tt02 kits. .. Then search for the body itself they should all fit as I'd think all are 257mm wheel base and approx 180-190 width.
