Ah, That's clearer, I see it now - the center opening is a bit more oblong, looks like they managed an extra degree or two at each end...
Either way, its too bad Tamiya hasn't made an adjustable piece like this.
The fixed unit can work, but you need to "trial-and-error" to figure out which combination of 64p spur and pinion works for the various hole pairs.

Yes. You will need to flip the lower and upper
arms for the shorter wheelbase

So, to answer my own question. A 68t mod 6 spur is approx 41mm diameter. An equivalent diameter 48p spur gear would be a 78t.
To match the final gear ration:
Mod 6 - 64/27 = 2.51
48p - 78/31 = 2.51

Have fun with this car on carpet. I ran a TT02 Type S my first year of racing....the car was unbeatable on asphalt....handled like it was on rails. Brought it indoor onto carpet, was like driving a school bus. Tons of oversteer that I could not dial out no matter what settings I changed.

looking for some TRF shocks for my stock TA-02. Everywhere is outta stock. Do they not make them anymore? This is my daughters car for practice & scooting around the house. She will eventually race in novice with the car. Just looking for a quality upgrade over the friction dampers

You don't necessarily need the TRF shocks , if you can find a CVA Mini Shock set, they are perfectly functional and likely available elsewhere.
