Yep, we could run whatever brand we wanted. I was running a 2010 Challenger body. But that's what I mean, each club is going to have their own variation to the rules because many times with a class like that they want to keep things fairly level, cheap, and fun.

cheap is a perception and relative. They used the same argument for USGT, now the class is dominated by look a like bodies of hyper cars for $39, vs $42 for license Tamiya bodies. We’re all asking each other.. hey is that a Ferrari, no it’s an Aston, really, it looks like a Lamborghini to me 🤦🏻

Did anybody test tamiya scale bodies vs the latest and greatest performance only bodies ??? If so, what was the difference???

Well I meant cheap because there were a handful of people using their old bodies in this class and not buying something new. We had a good mix of bodies out there with maybe only a couple duplicate bodies in the class which was cool. The other problem at the time and maybe still is to a lesser extent, was that it was tough to find bodies and other Tamiya products in stock. I just run bodies that I think look cool.

We are doing ProSpec here in Seattle strictly by the rules as well (in TCS preparation). Biggest problem people have run into is difficulty in locating the spec Reedy motors. Bodies seem to be easier to find than a month ago.

Agree, reedy motor and a hard to come by. Tamiya should address and allow the torque tune as a sub

Since the motors are now backordered to who knows when, we need an alternative.

Recently I did a tear-down & rebuild of a Tamiya TT02 Type-S. During the rebuild I noticed that a couple of the inner hinge pins on the a-arms were bent - Tamiya item# 9805681 (https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/7-dig...m-shaft-58261/). This is a 3x48.5mm steel shaft that was/is out of stock on the Tamiyausa website.

I could have purchased Tamiya #54634 (https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/optio...sus-mount-set/), but wanted to find a cheaper option. I also could have made my own part from steel 3mm rod, but I wanted to find a pre-made option. I did a quick internet search and found the exact length I need from ARRMA. Here is a link...

I was able to find/buy the ARRMA #AR330524 part on Amazon, but I could have purchased them through Tower Hobbies or Horizon Hobby. These were a direct fit, but I haven't had a chance to test their durability in racing.

I hope this information helps as it can sometimes be difficult to find Tamiya parts that don't have a 5-digit part number.

Speaking of hinge pins does anyone know of a factory Tamiya hop up for the rear hub suspension pins that use a C-clip instead of the screw in type hinge pins?

It's for the stock suspension.

You need the 39mm dcj shaft with the TRF420 front dcj axle.

You will need to shim the axle as well. Honestly it’s a costly upgrade and you may not reap the benefits.

Looking into trying to get a TT02 to 100mph...
