The question is why the don’t allow grip sauce? They should mandate a sauce like SXT and have everyone use that

Yes, as much as I dislike the messy stuff, I couldn't imagine driving on-road without tire sauce, as pretty much any tire I know more or less requires its use. Luckily, over here the odorless variants are mandatory, so at least no headaches.

That’s lame.. lol. Sauce will make any tyre work on carpet. Without it, your just inviting people to break their cars.. which is good for the hobby shop at track 🧐

Wait, they ban tire sauce but do not set tires to race in a Tamiya stock/spec class?

I assume that you are not limited to Tamiya brand tires alone, and if that is the case then you might consider a set of Sorex 22R or maybe 24R soft slicks. I have used Sorex brand rubber tires for years and they have been the best slick tire brand for our carpet racing. We normally use the 28R pre-glued sets and we race on older grey carpet. If you race on the newer black carpet that has more grip, you might need to try 32R or even 36R harder compounds.

If you must use treaded tires, try the HPI X-pattern belted tires. These are 26mm wide and will fit the stock Tamiya rims perfectly. I also like the Gravity RC spec USGT tires that come either pre-glued or separately as rubber tires only. These are 24mm wide, and if you buy just the rubber tires be sure to also purchase the proper width rims.

USGT tires are 24 wide but easily fit on 26mm wide as well. In fact they work better on the 26mm wide wheels because the tires are NOT belted and balloon over time. The 26 mm wide wheels reduce the balloon effect quite a bit. Can't beat the price either, USGT tires are cheap and perform well, long life too.

Did they ever offer a hop up alternative to the 3x32 MB2 screw, that secures the rear upright, upper and lower?

One of the things I typically love about Tamiya, is that majority of parts can be use across their kits.. eg from TT02 to TRF420. Tonight however I hit a major hick up.

I purchased 39mm DCJ joints for my TT02 RR. The dcj package comes with a 5x10x3 bearing. Well it turns out, it’s not enough, the cross pin won’t go in. I tried it on 4 hubs. Nope!

You need a 5x10x2.5 bearing.. good luck finding one! 🤦🏻
