Just bought a TT02RR from RCJAZ for $206 Australian and after downloading the instruction manual I've noticed that it doesn't come with silicone diff oil for the front and rear sealed diffs.

What do you guys recommend as starting point for front and rear diff oil weights with a 10.5-8.5T motor?

if you want it to lock for drifting use 125.000 oils or if you road race and want better 4 wheel traction,... just use grease.. these diffs are not oil friendly they leak if you use 7000 or any thing less

Getting back after a really long time

It's been 15 plus years since I have had a RC car. I just started back and picked up a tt02 Audi and would like some information on upgrades and running on lipo. I have picked up 2 trucks over the summer and they run on 3s so I have 5 packs and only one 2 s

I kicked off the indoor season for myself today. With the upcoming Tamiya Euro Cup race in mind, I brought the TT-02s to the track. The track got new carpet and a new layout. I found a decent rhythm quite fast, but had to fight a little with the car. The rear was stepping out suddenly. I tried a lot of things without effect. Later in the day a little less droop and a reduction of the steering angle helped this problem. I then cured it by taking out 1mm of the rear inner camber link shims  After that I could increase the steering angle again and finally got some consistent runs :)

By the way: Has anybody already driven the new Ford Mustang? Does it have a good performance?

I would like to see photos from the back of the car
car because I want to see what you did with the rear bumper mount. Did you cut it?.....By the way, I loved your car, I am looking to build one exactly as yours.

Thanks! I just do not use the rear bumper mount.

Since I built that TT02 a month or two ago, I've been pondering a few things.

First, has anyone come up with a good droop solution for either the stock, or S type arms for the TT02? Second, are there any swaybars available? I don't see either.

The S arms have optional adapter for droop

Well that covers droop. (I"m amused that the descriptions do not do them justice..) Swaybars?

Ahhh now you want sway bars sheesh man ... what’s next the shirt on my back lol.

Tamiya has yet to make sway bars obviously. I believe our friend Qatmix worked on something but not sure if it’s available for sale

well, what do you expect from me? :-) Before I go nuts figuring out my own solutions.... I've got a few ideas. It's amusing how far this platform has been taken by tamiya themselves, yet...

I mean, there's the TT02 RR, which gets you adjustable camber, sealed oil filled diffs, an aluminum driveshaft. The TT02 Type S, has "modern" suspension. Hard and soft tub choices. Then there's cars that go all the way down to soft tub spring damper setups.

And then, it's sold as a off road buggy too.

I find it an interesting platform. I'm suprised "basic" racing features, aren't common on it yet.

I’ve had roll bars for over a year or so for the typeS also got a design now for std TT02’s.

i will pop them on shapeways

I wonder when we will see more info on the coming SR. Would be really cool to see it use 420 suspension...
Qatmix, do you know anything of it yet?

I picked up a new TT02 EuroTruck and after maybe 8-10 runs (over a few weeks) the power just completely cut when I was driving (no steering or throttle). Now when I turn it on the esc blinks green and beeps twice, small pause, and then continues to blink green and beep. No power to steering or throttle. Seems like a fried esc? Just strange since the car wasn't run hard and it's the stock esc/brushed motor. Anybody have this problem or know the issue? I sent a message via Tamiya USA website, but they never replied. Thanks

Nerobro 01-12-2020 08:36 PM

The EuroTruck is a TT01e. Though your problem is with the ESC/Reciever I believe. I beleive your reciever lost bind. Re-bind the reciever.
