The car is almost finished. They are in the final stages of testing. If you saw the car you would think the prototype is a production kit, that's how close they are. Its all down to the details and the final specs, but that is what takes time. Eveyone wants it to be right the first time out and I bet you would love a complete manual with a parts list and set-up tips.....(that is coming). There are no pictures other than the chassis pic in the post above.

rangulo: what was the major problem that a schumacher car had when it was released? I've owned just about every schumacher touring car ever produced (only one I skipped was the Axis 2) and I always ran each one, straight out of the box, with no mods and always had great success. So where was the major flaw. Schumacher's quality is one of the most well respected around, so I must have missed the kit your talking about. I admit my original MR4-TC had some issues, but considering it was originally meant to be a budget car, and was later modified, I think it turned out pretty well.

Just because some people like to chop up their chassis(to add rollcenter mods and the like...) doesn't mean its neccesary. Some people just like to tinker. Just ask the guys here. I always ran my C4.1 stock, but some of the guys here added lots of hop-ups and made major, major changes to their cars, some guys even made their own chassis. But it doesn't mean the car wasn't "right" when it was released.

I'll bet you it wont be long after the release of this new car, that people will add hop-ups and make mods to it. Its just what some people like to do.

I just went down and took a look at the pic. Pretty cool, pretty cool. Even that small pic tells some tales of what can be expected.

I do have one hope though. I hope that since everything is new on this car, I hope the same is true for the bearings. Because the bearings that came with the C4.1 were junk. Corally is better than that. I'm not saying they have to be sealed or anything, but don't have them falling apart the first time you clean them!

I hope to see some official pics soon!

As always, designing cars is a question of compromises and with the very large spur gear that is required with this system the diffs have to be mounted very high up. As a result the driveshafts have a very steep angle. This again is not efficient.
thats from rc zone. Drive shafts on a steep angle on the new car?? Dose this affect efficientness of the new car?? Are the drive shafts on the new car angled anyway?? Is this just crap from rczone??

Hi guys. Greetings from Malta.

Logically, the spur gear cannot be of a bigger diameter than a wheel. That would mean about 100 teeth at 40dp.

Now a normal tyre sidewall is about 5 to 6 mm which is your ideal ride height. So assuming that the spur is flush with the bottom of the car, then the drive shafts should be absolutely straight when the car is at 6mm. I see nothing at all wrong with that!

What's more, with no other ratios to bother about if you want a final drive ratio of say 5 to 1 which is normal for a mod touring car, then you need a 20 tooth pinion, which again is very ordinary.

So I really don't see what all the fuss is about. I'm sure Corally know what they're doing.

Now will somebody tell me another. According to the only pic we have yet seen, the motor is placed on the right - off side of the car, with the cells on the left - near side. On what side of the diff pulley is the spur gear. I would think that with large enough pulleys they could put the spur on the left, thus bringing the motor further into the middle, and still keeping the diffs very narrow, and thus the wishbones very long.

Just speculating.

Regards

Joe from sunny Malta.........where it's actually pissing with rain right now!

Hi guys. Me again.

Sorry I boobed.

Looking at the picture I see the cells are on the right and the motor is on the left.

But the arguement still holds the same, so when reading my previous post just switch left with right.

Regards

Joe from sunny Malta.

If you could only see the car all your questions would be answered.... There is only so much I can tell you before the wrath of Jack the Gripper comes down on me. So until the car comes out or some luck spy gets a visable picture you will all have to keep wondering. Only the lucky few at races have sceen the Amazing Power of the NEW Car....

Corally is still thinking of names for the New Car.... If you have any ideas Email:

johnbull i understand what u mean about the spur pully. It would be logical to have the pully inbetween the motor and spur, like rear belt on hpi pro 3. this would bring the motor nearer the center.

as for names mmm..... not realy good at this

I got your names right here...

How about:

-"New Car"
-"Super Secret race car thingy"
-"HotWheel"
-"HardDrive"
or maybe
-"Touring Car"

Seriously though...

How about:
-"Bounty Hunter"
-"Matrix"
or I've always been partial to "Darkseid"

WOW!!!!! I turn my back for a few days and a picture of the car pops up!!! I guess it was a matter of time. Just remember..... these are all prototypes. The final design has not yet been decided. You will have too wait for a spyshot of the top of the car to realy see what this new car is all about. (this prototype is diffrent from the one that I had seen) Now we must all wonder what they are up too

I would just carry on the lineage- C4II, C4plus or something.... The meaning of C4 was always cool for me so why change it if it's not broke
