Count how many teeth the large ring gear (diff gear ) as well as the crown gear that drive the diff ring gear (end of mid shaft). So next is: Diff ring gear (xxT) divide by crown gear (xxT) the result will be the your internal gear ratio. ie: Diff ring gear 37T, Crown gear 18T so 37/18 = 2.055

Usually most cars Internal ratio is around 2.something.

Hope that helps.

Yeah internal is 2.5. My shaft drive car with a 13.5 Novak has a 88 spur and a 45 pinion to give you an idea. That is with rubber tires.

Hey guys I run off-road and was going to change a lot of my car to red, so I bought KYOW5189-03 which is the shock seal cartridge. Well they dont fit since we run o rings and what not. So I have 4 of these things NIP that I cant send back since I took my sweet time trying to see if they would fit.

So if anyone is looking for these things

http://www.speedtechrc.com/store/ebp...id=514&id=6165

I cant give you a good deal on them as they are useless to me in off road.

Thanks.

Hey guys i just got myself a stallion shin to race at my local club in 540

I read above the internal gear ratio is 2.5 for all kyosho cars, that apply to the stallion too?

And its been a while but what kinda of FDR should I be aiming for?

cheers

The internal ratio for a stallion is 1.83. The shaft cars and buggy are 2.5.

Hi, I'm considering getting the TF-5 in trade and am wondering if there's anything I should look out for, good spares to have, etc. Does the battery strap work with say, a 5000mah lipo? Thanks guys!!

I can't even remember the last time I broke anything on the car. Last thing that happened was a bent hinge pin. But C hubs and a spare set of arms is a good idea.

Which car are you thinking about the Shaft or Belt. I know you can tape the batteries in on both. But I've put Lipos in the Shaft car a few times. Just turn the holder upside down and use the flat side.

My son and I have both broken the ball joint where the rear shocker fits the suspension arm. They're easy to fix though by drilling a hole and fixing a metal ball joint in with araldite. So I would say get some ball joints and cups.

In a years racing with this car, that is all that we've broken. I know a guy who got rammed from behind and broke a rear shocker. That was on the RTR car which has plastic shockers though.

Stocking up on suspension arms is a good idea aswell.

Good luck

Thanks for the tips, guys. I really appreciate it. I'll stock up on arms, hubs, knuckles, ball joints and cups! I think the one I'm getting is the regular shaft drive version.

Default Kyosho TF5 springs

Does anyone know how the RTR stock springs compare to the other ones available ie red, yellow and blue, for texture / weight ? How do you measure the actual weight of springs ?
