The Tamiya bodies are pretty much built around the same wheelbase and width. The only possible difference may be the body post holes if they come pre-drilled.
200mm bodies have totally different proportions. Even if the wheelbase is the same they just look wrong. But they can be used.

On a different note, does anybody know where I can pick up spare parts other than Tamiya USA? I need to rebuild my stock front-diff (currently am running front one-way, but class I want to race in won't allow it), but many of the necessary parts are currently out-of-stock at Tamiya USA .

What parts do you need. I think I have all the internals for th 05 diff. I can get them to you @ the Hanger on the 20th if you can't find anthing. PM me we can chat.
Hi What is the format to calucate the number of spur & pinion gear teeth to use to suit on the motor turn we use? Thks!

Towards the back of the manual for the TA05 is a section on gear ratios, including the formula for calculating it (page 18 for the standard TA-05 chassis).
A good online tool can be found at gearchart.com
Knowing what ratio works for your track isn't something that these will calculate for you, so checking with an experienced local is always a good idea.

You can see the formula in cell number L10. Pinion sizes in the left column, spur sizes across the top, C3 and D3 are diff pulley and center pulley sizes respectively, internal ratio C4.
The beauty is that you can change diff and centre sizes in cells C3 and D3 and the table will update instantly with the new ratios. you can also have another table where ratios are sorted increasing in value and paired with the corresponding spur/pinion pair so you can actually vary the the FDR incrementally by changing both accordingly.

Or if you are out at the track and you need to calculate it on your cell phone calculator the formula is:
spur / pinion X internal = final drive
For instance, 90 (spur) / 40 (pinion) X 2.25 (internal of the TA05) = 5.06 final drive.

That's why I caved in and did the whole table in the end. Trust me, I hate computers and am at about sub-bozo level with the whole thing. But once you print your ratios ordered in whatever increments you like, it's the best thing to have at the track. Especially if you like me have a hopeless mobile phone that doesn't know anything.
By the way my is the TA05 ver.2 the internal isit the same?
Nope. You've got 37 tooth diff pulleys and 18 tooth centre pulleys. That's 37/18=2.0555. What I posted above is the setup for modified xray 007.
Which mean the Ver. 2 transmission ratio is 2.0555? The gear ratio is 1:7.19Thks for all the help!

Hey all, I’am running a ta05 with the gear ratio of 2.117:1 78 spur and 33 pinion giving me a final of 5.0038:1... But this ratio is not working on my club track I am running 2nd 3rd all the time and i just don’t have the legs to catch 1st...... Can anyone suggest anything my club track is carpet and the layout is attached.
