The TA05-R has the se lightweight reversible suspension as Evo4 and 415. If you want to know which parts are exactly the same, you'll have to do some parts crossreferencing on TamiaUSA.

BTW: the TA05 setup sheets can be found by going to the TRF Center in the lower left of Tamiya's main page. Oncethere, click on Setup Sheets. You'll find one that's been filled out by Satoshi maezumi.

Only the team orion lipo's are legal for TCS. You can get the rules from www.tamiyausa.com There is a tcs tab in the upper portion of the page.--Al

Super Updated Rules:
Lipo now legal in GT1 also. I ran the CORE R/C 5000 in my TA05R at trackside. Qual'd 5th overall in a competitive field of cars. You'll need to add a considerable amount of weight to the car if you plan to run Lipo.

Well that 's a bummer!! The core lipo's are a hell of a lot cheaper than Orion lipo's. When I went full Lipo, only orion/peak was allowed ( 1week ago)

The rules have been updated for quite some time for both multiple pack sources as well as multiple brushless motor sources... You need to download the .pdf for the latest updates, and monitor the TCS racing forum. But it was no shock that they were allowed at the TCS race at Trackside.

There's one in the TRF section:

http://www.tamiyausa.com/articles/ln...hi%20setup.pdf

It doesn't say "TA05R", but it clearly has the LW suspension options and the good shocks...and that's what an "R" is.

very cool - answers my questions at once. Now I just need to be able to read japanese to identify which springs color the driver recommends Was also a bit surprise not to see droop on the sheet? Thanks anyway!

"rebound stroke" - I thought that was the distance the shock shaft was supposed to go out when compressed. thanks for clearing this up!

I think that figure would be the additional height above ride height that you would get before the tires come off the setup board. They measure droop differently that most companies.

Do you know how this was measured? I assume it's the typical way of measuring from the bottom of the chassis pan up to the tip of the lower control arms...
