Exclamation B3's !

SuperEK4,
I would put the front sway bar back on then go to a softer angle on shock position in the rear, then a softer spring in the rear, then increase negative camber in the rear, then increase negative toe in the rear, then increase the droop in the front. Try and use soft or medium soft inserts on B3's!
Of coarse do each of these changes one at a time and then drive a few laps and see if you like. Need more rear grip then go to the next change, so on and so forth! Last, Tamiya "B3"tires aren't the best tires out there. They only last a few runs and they are sooooo! done!
Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

hi, i have a m sonik 8t esc. but I have to run my tx on reverse to have the car running forward.the motor n batt wires on the esc is correct. Only thing is I have to reverse my tx to run it. Will it harm my esc?

My esc also shuts down after 5mins of race becoz of overheat? can i reverse my wires on my motor to ran normal on my tx? will it be better. I m running on 23t stock RZ on Ta05r with 5:9 ratio.

By theory it should not overheat. the belt & meshing is ok too? Any experts can tell me y?

ESC shouldn't over heat running a 23t at 5.9. I would suspect the esc not doing it's job! Running the tx in reverse is no biggy, it should affect the running at all!
Just my 2$

5.9 is a pretty geared up ratio for a TZ though, I don't even run a Sports Tuned that high!, I ran my TZ at around 7! The manual even says 6.5 - 8 as a safe range for that motor!

An RZ I'd gear at 7.2, so in that case, 5.9 is even worse!

Try that gearing, (I believe with a 105 spur a 30 or 31 pinion will do it, if you run the standard 70 tooth spur, you ideally want a 21 or 22 pinion) and may find the ESC behaves better as well!

over/under gearing a motor will only make the motor get hot, motor leads become unsoldered or comm turns purplish blue. the esc very seldom overheat, unless the esc is rated for silvercan use only. but your esc is rated to handle motors down to 8t, so probably the fault is not with the motor. furthermore, if you gear your RZ at 7.2 for our local track, you'll find that your car being waved bye bye on the straight by other cars, just give the 7.2 ratio a try and you'll know.. you can ask bk or kelvin khng for the RZ/TZ optimum ratios to use for our local track.

I guess it's track / climate dependant

If you try and run a TZ or an RZ at a ratio like 6 or 6.5 at our local track, you best bring a fire extinguisher and be ready in 1-2 minutes. Even Sports tuneds geared at that rate are lasting maybe 2-3 runs then game over.

Just wanted to take a minute and thank everyone for their assistance and advise.... I've been reading this thread since it started and was personally convinced to purchase a TA05 and have been impressed with this vehicle since receiving it. I will be giving it through shake down Saturday at Primetime Raceway, preparing it for battle at the TCS GT2 war in Memphis , hope to meet some fellow forum members there!

yes, its more of a track/climate dependant. we usually gear the RZ at 5.9 maximum or TZ at 5.4-5.5
i ever tried gearing the TZ at 5.2, it stopped dead at around the 3 minute mark in a 5 min race, got a red comm and unsoldered motor wires...but it was plenty fast though.

To be blunt the MTroniks MSonik range of speedos are pretty pathetic, it saddens me to say it because they are a British product.

Try switching to something more reputable, I think a lot of your problems will stop there.
