Marcus,

Do you know anyone from the Tampa area running GT8? Would be good to pull together a regular group and find a place to run in town.

The RCB fronts mount up and would look right at home if they didn't have so much "patina" on them. Will take some tuning to get the balance right but shiz happens.

I had a couple of deals fall through so its karma for this one to stay. With the development work/upgrades going on there should be plenty to keep me interested.

Need to get a GT8 scene going in Tampa. We have outdoor clay and indoor carpet but not much in the way of on-road.
Ya, I've been tweaking my car for months now but I bought the RTR, my car is almost full pro now. All I need is towers at this point. Ill probably go SNR Graphite on those instead of aluminum. I'm going to pick up the material for my custom top plate in a few. So tired today Might not work on it...

I dont know any myself but is there an onroad track there?
The guys in brownsville parking lot race every other sunday and probably have the biggest group around! the convinced and old TARGET to allow them to use their parking lot. one of the locals built a moveable track system out of wood and the have a blast! You will probably have to grassroots it to get it going!! You do not need much to start and yo ucan get a robotronic counting sytem for around 400.00 with a few transponders and they only cost 40.000 retail! post up on the GT thread and ask and keep an eye out for IGT8F.com lots of new developments coming in a week or so, its going to be exciting!

I'm waiting for my SNR chassis and towers to arrive. If you are interested, I can sell you my stock parts from my pro kit.... Then again, I'd go carbon haha

Working on the build. Next shopping trip will be for larger pinions. 18t is the largest I have on hand and it barely reaches the spur.

The stock front springs seem really short. The collars are screwed all the way down just to make contact. Can anyone confirm this is correct?

Close up with the shock extended and collar all the way up. Definitely the front shock and correct shaft.

Ya, stock front springs are on the short side. I used the rtr lower spring perches because they gave about 1/8 spring lift over the pro. But with all the droop I run the short springs work well.

You take it for a test drive yet? The stock tires are way to loose but pretty fun for the few batteries they last for lol!

No drive yet. Need a set of larger pinions. 18 doesn't have enough mesh. What's the largest pinion that will fit the stock spur?

I'm not sure about the pro version. 25/42 gearing was max on my rtr mount with a little modification. That's weird because the rtr came with a 16/42 stock.

Pro chassis comes with a 16/42 gearing as well. I busted my 42 spur and put on a backup 46 spur with 18 pinion and I ran out of space on mount slider. Had to mill out a few mm to squeeze on the 18. I'm planning to run 41 or 42 spur with 18 pinion, which should work.

With stock 42 spur, I could not install a 14 pinion. So theoretically you should be able to use 16+ pinions. The RTR motor mount is different than the Pro but should fit same gearing.

You can go to kershaw designs and get a 8mm bore mod1 pinion and use it for a spur with minor modifications. I've got 34/34 on my car right now lol, just need to finish my new top plate. This thing is going to break the sound barrier next time out lol!

How did you bust the spur? I've never seen anyone do that lol. Stranger things have happen though from my experience. ..

I think a mix of drag racing my friends on 6s and poor meshing. Do NOT launch the car haha. It was for fun but its a track car now so it wont happen again, hopefully.
