The Lexan is to brittle, its cracking a little around the diff mount screws. The original diff plate is still there under the plate. I'm brain storming what material I should use. Also since dual 4s packs are the plan this won't work as the 4s packs are a 1/2 taller. So....back to the drawing board. Maybe some .030 aluminum sheet with a couple joggles in it.

Looks like my GT8 career may end before it begins. Just found out Hillsborough county is footing the bill to rebuild the Lake Park track, which is 15 minutes from me. With my oldest son getting more interested in RC, the offroad truck will be a lot more practical. If someone is interested in the new Pro kit I have on the way, please pm me a reasonable offer.

Just a FYI for those with the RTR or even Pro Chassis. If your differential cups are worn out and you can't find a oem replacement. The cups from the Kyosho inferno fits with slight modification. They are the same diameter as the OFNA, but they are a bit longer. You would have to grind them shorter by about 3mm.

This may not help you right now.I make my own carbon fiber plates again using the West Epoxy System.I wet out pieces of cloth on a piece of MDF with wax paper, place the other half on top and clamp for 24hrs.Works very well.Maybe something to think about in the future.Chris

Ya, I'm thinking .025 to .035 aluminum sheet will work best for this, I can buy it at lows and trace my lexan proto type to the aluminum and cut it out and then add a couple .125R bends to step up about .375 to make clearance for the future 4 cells. Should be interesting, I'm going to pick up some material this week. Sort of a high cg setup but these electronics are huge lol. Way overkill for a car this size. I might hold off on 8s till next season and see what I can get 6s to do on the xl2 for now. Since I'm still kinda fearful of these speeds.

One last shot $375 shipped to anyone on this thread.

For $475 I'll throw in a used MMM esc and 2200kv motor.

Maybe you should send it back to tower before it's to late. That's probably what I would do. Should only cost about $20 to ship back. I can tell you that one of these cars going by you at 100+mph is more of a rush than I ever got in 18 years of off road track racing/driving.
