Does anyone shim the motor for weight balance? I'm playing with scales after installing my new LRP flow and X20 5.5, and my car is about 14g heavy on the battery side. I have 14g in the middle that I can move out under the receiver, but I don't think it'll be enough. I still have another 14g to add, but with the way I placed the esc (wires facing motor), I don't have any more free space, except behind the motor and in front of the servo, neither of which are very far out. With 2mm shims between motor and mount, it's only 7-8g heavy on the battery side. I just don't know if that will compromise the integrity of the motor mount and lead to stripped spurs. I'm missing that schui motor clamp a bit right now.

It was pointed out that moving that weight out also changes the CoG etc and can make for inconsistent handling.
For 14g I would just leave it as is

14g is really not a lot, mine is way more than that, brings up an interesting subject though cause I was just putting the finishing touches on mine tonight, and I did notice just how light the T4 is on the motor corner, hard to find room to put weight back there as well with my cooling fan etc.
I weighed mine again after all the prep work, still like 30g under weight (it's 1380g for this event), no effort has been made to make my car light, so I'm impressed, but I got to find spots to put that much weight on, tricky on the T4, harder when your trying to balance it, in the end mine is going to probably be 25-30g heavier on the battery side.

pics of your layout? I got that reflex racing mount thats aluminum to mount a fan to it, that should add weight. Currently, I have just a smaller fan shoe good in behind the motor, like I have always done. I ordered a 30x30 muchmore fan, hopefully it cools well.

If it's only 14g off measured at the wheels that's not a big deal, although since you've got to add some ballast it makes sense to use it to get the car balanced.

How do you guys get your weights, do you have corner scales?

I have some cheap digital scales I found on ebay from hong kong. They get the job done. I don't use them for tweak, though. It's a bit finnicky to get the car settled evenly. I just use them for left/right and front/rear balance.
EDIT: You can get left/right balance really close by just lifting the car with hex drivers under the center of the shock towers, though.
