Thanks for the responses guys.

Yea, I'm having trouble finding a suitable 2s pack that will fit without breaking the bank. Loong Max used to make one that was a great fit but they don't seem to make it anymore.

I've got a few Maxamps packs around and while I'm fond of their customer service the price of their packs are pretty high. But I might end up going that route if I can't find anything else. As for the hard case suggestion. I just parking lot race with friends, nothing official.

I'm thinking of running an EZ-RUN 60A system from Hobby City along with either a 4300kv 540 or maybe a 5000kv or 5900kv Feigao.

Thanks, the Associated D ring is the same as the Losi.

Does the Associated ring fit the Cyclone?

I've got another question guys:

I've been looking at various brushless motors and ran across the hobbywing combo setup with the 60A ESC and the 5.5t/6000kv motor.

Does that motor rating seem right? 6000kv seems within the useful range but I don't understand the 5.5t, that seems like really low turns for a 6000kv. Does turns actually mean anything anymore or is it just a reference?

I think its about right , it does semm low but some motors have higher kv then others with the same number of turns i.e : novak 5.5 = 7400kv , LRP 5.5 = 7000kv , orion 5.5 = around 8000kv and speed passion 5.5 = around 8400 kv
So i think its right but wich motor is it that your looking at .
Also your question is off topic but try to post it on another thread that talks about brushless motors .

Sorry about that, the reason I've been posting here is that all this stuff is going in my Cyclone S (not that it's a good excuse).

To answer your question here is the motor/esc combo: http://rcmarket.com.hk/product_info....7qvm921ekjfdh4

It's the 60A ESC and the 5.5t motor. I just want to be SURE that it's 6000kv because my buddy is running a 5900kv motor in his TC4 and I don't really want it to be any faster than his.

Also, I have to buy a pinion, what gearing would you suggest in the Cyclone with this setup?

yeah i understand wy you post it here , it doesnt matter.I think it is a 6000kv but you should ask the question to RC MARKET he will know better then me, but yes i think its a 6000kv motor.I have a FDR of 7.5 with my 5.5 7000kv so you should try around that.
