Thanks man, thanks again for that lil battery holder deal, it was a life saver lol.
You wouldn't happen to have a part number for those other battery mounts? The car did run good. I just need more experience running that good lol.

the reason more angle makes the car turn more is that as the suspension compresses the front tires move back some, this shortens the wheelbase and increases front weight.

its interesting that andy mentions that running less helps the car in the slower technical sections. perhaps that has to do with bumpsteer?

running less arm sweep makes the car more aggressive which is good for tight technical tracks. if you go up in arm sweep it smooths the car out and help carry more corner speed in sweeping corners. that is how arm sweep works

if your tires move back and shortens your wheel base when the suspension is compressed you have problems.

Just wondering, with more arm sweep you also change the ackerman. Would this be the reason for smoothing out the steering ?

Sweep won't shorten the wheelbase under compression but kickup will, but only very little given the cars don't have much travel.

you're right, i was thinking backwards sweep makes the tires move forwards

visualize the arc that the arm moves on. no kickup/sweep means that arc is perpendicular to the centerline of the chassis. kickup rotates that arc around the middle point of the hingepin, so now when viewed from the side the arc is angle towards the back of the car. with sweep the arc gets rotated so that when viewed from the top the arc is at an angle.

with sweep the arm moves forward as it travels upward. a super easy way to visualize this, is to use your hands. make a knife edge with your hands and rest them on that edge on a table or something. rest them at various angles (to simultate different amounts of sweep and/or kickup) and rock them onto your fingers, you can see how your palm not only moves up and down but forward and back

sorry for the brain fart earlier, i was in a hurry

Having just downloaded the instructions for the Cyclone S off the web I noticed that it has a different type of driveshaft, would it work better than the ones in the normal cyclone?

Also looking forward to getting the Cyclone S layshaft, no more grub screws to come undone!
