Hot Bodies have release a whole load of new products for their main line of competition chassis’ but we will start with the Cyclone TC. Now you can adapt your Cyclone and Cyclone TC chassis to LiPo power with this LiPo battery upper deck conversion set, which comes complete with upper deck, aluminium block and all the necessary hardware you will need to get up and running. New rear 0º degree hubs have been machined from billet aluminium and anodized purple for added durability and custom looks. Some new aluminum front spindles are more than just aesthetic, but also stronger and more precise on the track. Finally for the TC are the DCJ drive shafts, that maintain better corner speed while drastically reducing wheel chatter. The DCJ or (Double Cardan joint) shaft breaks the single pivot point into two pivot points resulting in less drag and shallower shaft angles during sharp turning.

I wonder what the spacer is for

I think you need the spacer if you're running the Brushless Motor-Mount which has a 2mm higher Layshaft position.

I'm wondering if it's a real benefit running an unsymetrical topdeck or if it's only needed to make "high" LiPos fit. I have no problems fitting a SMC 4700mAh 40C LiPo into an original Cyclone.

Perhaps anyone from Team HotBodies could answer the question. Thanks!

With the new upper deck and aluminium block, what would be the clearance from the surface of the chassis? I am trying to figure out what kind of lipo packs could fit.

It should be the same as it is with the current topdeck, just minus the right middle bulhead that goes over the battery.

Indeed it is. I haven't noticed any change in handling, but I did notice it tends to tweak a tiny bit easier. Other than that, it's great. I've been running it for a while now with good success. It sure makes fitting lipo batteries a lot easier. I'm running a Thunderpower 40C 5000mah battery with a PPD Billet Lipo weight plate and still have room to go.
