I still have my doubts about the servo mounts, i have never seen a tamiya box for the last couple of years that hasn't menioned all the hop ups that are effectively included.
So i trusth my eyes and the pictures of the boxes
But you never know untill you have it

My second Ver.II and the new 2012 body are on the way to me, I've ordered the new dark titanium version. The kit costs as much as the regular F104Ver.II, but it's got the body, alu motor mount and rear carbon motor mount plate included. I will be saving at least 80$ for the hopup parts, body set and shipping.
Look forward to build it, this will be equipped with a cirtix stock club esc and a speedpassion V3 21.5T motor.
Why am i unable to create an account on F1paintlab?
I really would like to buy some decals from them

Where are you getting the 2012 body. Have not found them anywhere besides eBay out of Hong Kong.

Hey all
i just got a used F104 ver2 and this is my first F1 car as i mainly race TC's, previous owner built it and made it a shelf queen so its in as new condition.
A few questions the spur gear wobbles is that normal ? i took the hubs out and redid (per instruction) the ball diff/spur gear and there is a slight wobble still , do i have to tighten the nut really tight ??
I know alot of ppl are using 21.5 brushless or stock silver can motors, atm i have a spare Tamiya sports tune motor (black can) is that a good motor to use in F1 ?
Lastly tyres, i have read the F1 tyre guide but here in UK its hard to get pit shimizu F1 tires or rides so are the Tamiya tyres any good (Tamiya part number 51399,51400) would be using rubber tyres
Many thanks

The diff balls are wider than the diff gear so the gear will wobble on the diff balls. If it did not then the diff rings would rub on the diff gear and the diff would not work.

Tighten the nut. Then hold both tires firmly in your hands. Try to rotate the spur by pushing with your thumb. If the spur won't rotate, but the diff still operates smoothly, it is good. There will always be a little wobble
kk I will have another go, since this is my first direct drive car i have no idea as in TC the spur doesn't move thx
Tamiya's best tires are the 1031 and 1032 TCS tires. You will need the foam wheels to attach them. They are nearly the same as the Shimizus, better than Rides, and far, far better than any other Tamiya tire.

Has anyone tried the HPI Bridgestone high grip tires which was originally on the HPI formula 10 cars ?
