Hey J-P, I'd be interested in one, do you have any idea if one is being made for the 415?
If not I can always supply some details for you.
I've been looking too get a fan for the car, motor seems to come off hot a fair amount of the time.

BTW, I assume you know that over here, the reedy ckip-on heatsink with fan is ~£20 from microtech, so your pricing is pretty competive. Deffiently look into adding the reciver plug though, would be a better option. Ie if ppl wana use the plug they can, if not they can just lop it off. At the moment it's kinda restricting what ppl can do with.

Just some of my veiws.

Regards
Ed

You can move the fan so that it is fastened with two screws, to have it blow over the end-bell, although it won`t blow into it..

Most of these fans are used in Persona; Computers. Check out if its 6volts then its perfect for the motor. There are bearing and bushing types....it usually costs very cheap like $5-8 a piece.

im just wondering if these are worth the extra weight, and if they slow down your car and the run time due to the extra current draw?

I use one on my XRAY, attached to a spare battery strap support and using a convenient screw hole in the chassis. It reduces motor temperature between 20 and 30 F, and others using the Associated TC4 dual fans report reductions of up to 40F. No noticable loss of run time or performance.

Yes, it's the Reedy (Associated) fan part #448 Replacement Cooling Fan. It's one half of Associated part # 31037 TC4 FT Motor Cooling Duct Fan Kit but without the ductwork.

I don't know about other people, but I use the slightly larger 40mm fans and my problem is carpet fuzzies binding up the fan. I have thought about trying a piece of screeen on the intake side of the fan to see if that will help.

Hey J-P,

First up ygpm

I've had a look at my 415, and I've taken some pics and measurements, so I've got a decent idea of how to get it mounted, plus thought of a few other bits that might be a bonus for the car...
I'll put them all down in an email for you.

Hope it helps
Ed

so do you just solder these little fans onto the battery leads or something? are they able to handle the current from a 6 cell pack?

Check out our associated fan mount for the Xray T1 FK at our website, www.teamtamale.com. This mounts on the rear bulkhead above the endbell. This doesn't interfere with removal or installation of the motor.

Here is a direct link to the fan mount

tryhard,

sent you pm

rcnitrodude999,

yeah just solder them into battery wires, they dont have a problem running from 6 cell packs, but he is looking into plugs on the end so they go into the reciever.
