You're going to get a hundred different answers, front runners at my track all use what balances out their car the best and usually is 6000mah. Me and one or two others are usually a few tenths faster than the field, I use a sunpadow 6000mah and absolutely love it. From start to finish of a 6 minute main I'm running the same time as my hot lap.

the "best" pack for me is the Reedy Power 6000 Zapper SG2...

and not cause Im sponsored but because I run 98 to 99% consistency on a regular with them... they maintain great and always have power to spare. I don't "blast them" with my Icharger except to check IR and that's 30amps.... I use the Reedy Power charger 1216-C2, which charges at 12amps for my racing....

i just got a zapper shorty for my f1. Do the lihv packs need to be fully charged once in a while or are they good just charging to normal 4.2 a cell?

I have been using the Turnigy "Nano-Tech" 6000. Current set is over a year old. Internals are as low as new and the packs are flat. Reasonable prices.
Remember 6000 mah is the maximum capacity per VTA rules.

Has anybody ran the Mcallister Cougar VTA body? I have been using there Camaro body for a while but I wanted to change it up a bit and saw the Cougar body. Almost everybody at my local track has the mustang, camaro, or cuda body but I want to be a little different. The only thing that I'm curious about is the lack of any rear spoiler. I know this probably doesn't do much on these cars but I'm curious. I know the "Proffesor" will chime in on this one.

I have used this body and enjoyed running it. Per the rules for this body you can add a rear spoiler to it. This was mine without the spoiler.

I've run VTA with Mustangs, Camaros, and Cudas. A good part of this class is eye appeal and sticking to the colors and schemes of this era. A couple guys ran Cougar bodies and they looked just as cool as the rest of the cars in the VTA class. Go for it!

PS: In this class a spoiler does not really matter in my mind. My Protoform Mustang does not have a spoiler to speak of and it runs just fine.

It looks like it has a spoiler to me. Vs the cougar which doesn't have one.

It is a spoiler, just not much of one.
