Although some see the 2.5 trans as a problem, I just see it as a car with a bigger differential than all the other cars: more acceleration as long as you keep the drivetrain ultralight with the Bert mods(lightest possible drivetrain in the rc industry)...

Glad to see the class is staying alive over there! Nice work! Are any of you guys going to make it over to the 2 day VTA race at 386 this weekend?

i would just suggest using PF tires. But if you must use HPI, probably from rim to tread

Front sidewalls to prevent traction rolling.

Regardless if im running HPI or PF tires on black CRC rug I have to glue the sidewalls to prevent traction rolling, HPI's are more consistent as they don't swell up like the PF tires and are the most popular choice at our track

And I think that's where the "really high end" chassis and the cheaper chassis differ. Running on CRC black carpet, awesomeatix, and fully low CG setup xrays seem to be just fine without glued sidewalls. .. then again, so was my TC4, mostly. My Sakura needed softer rear springs and glued front sidewalls for USGT tires...

I keep wondering what PF did so different that their tire compound swells. While the HPI compound didn't?

I wonder why that's a needed tuning tool. But that's.. maybe a discussion for another thread.
