So really there are only 5 speed controls that you can go down to your local hobby shop and buy NEW. and 80% of them are Novaks

that's a lot of variety. so where do you stand now?

okay...lets see..

you can still get alot of these esc's from online and local shops,... like the Goose and Citrix...

and these are still on the list incase you get one used or already have them

adding new esc's doesnt mean taking away others that mfgr quit making or HS quit selling....cause they still are legal and work well in the class

or were you trying to be funny?...Im getting old...lol

I'm trying to figure out the size of this driver figure from Pro Boat (Horizon Hobby). Wonder if he's 1/10th? Would make a quick/easy driver figure for VTA.

Anybody work at a hobby shop that carries these so they can measure one up?

I measured one of those drivers at my local hobby shop and he is closer in size to a 1/12 scale driver. However one of the recommended driver figure part numbers in the USVTA Rules (HPI #104815 - for the DT-1 Truck Body) is a 1/12 scale driver figure and it looks perfectly fine in a 1/10 VTA body.

On another note, I found a couple Kyosho 1/10 scale driver figures being sold by Team Bluegroove on eBay. These would make excellent VTA driver figures since they are a one-piece lexan mold which makes them very light weight.

Default First VTA race

So I have finally returned to RC racing. In the early 90's I raced off-road with a Losi JR-XT. Now I am trying out on-road. I have an Xray T3 2011 for VTA and just raced my first race at Mike's in Dallas. They guys there were all very helpful, especially a driver named Looped who basically re-configured my car between heats. I really appreciated that.

Regardless of Looped's best efforts, my driving skills and new tire kept putting me into the walls. I tried slowing down and could sometimes navigate the turns but I still need lots pf practice. So I spent most of my laps trying to drive my lines and staying away from the other cars

I think I still have some setup problems and will look into that. Anyway, here's a video of one of the 2nd qualifier. I'll be the dark blue Mustang that is spinning out in the turns and bouncing off the walls.

>> dang it. still not enought posts << lol

While I understand your frustration, this is a post for the Speed Passion thread...

Nash, if you see fit to change the rules at your track, that's fine. I can't make esc manufacturers follow the rules that have been set out.

It can be reprogrammed. They say they will never have timing software, and I do not doubt this. However, I cannot go back on what rules have been set out. I said we will not allow re-flashable speedos or speedos that can be accessed with a pc.

Did not know that. For the sake of varitey I am sad to hear it, but I certainly understand your stand on it.

I am slower than the pack down the straight, but I dont think it is the Mongoose, and the drivetrain on the Yokomo MR4-TC SD SSG will just spin if you flick the spur gear. I gotta figure a fan mount in that thing so I can gear up a little.
