If Tekin was interested in creating a speed control for the USVTA class they would have done so by now. Even if they did make one, it probably would be more expensive than some of the good speed controls currently available.
There is nothing wrong with Tekin products and I own several of their speed controls. I just don't think a class like VTA really fits in with their business model (high end competitive racing).

I see where you are coming from...but adding another esc to the list is my goal...Im not a Tekin fan, nor own any of their products....but Im sure having a Tekin on the list will give us new racers that are loyal Tekin users...
I see this as a good thing...more esc's will allow more racers to get involved in USVTA

There was a similar discussion awhile back. Here's a link to one of my old posts with a wiring diagram:

So, for example, when the LRP SPX Zero was submitted. They ran a series of runs/laps with known expectable esc's to establish a base line "hot lap/pace". They will then remove said esc, and run the submitted esc through it's paces.
In throttle mode 0, there was no advantage and the Zero looked good, however, once the esc was moved to throttle profile 1 ( which added timing to work with certain LRP motors) the zero proved to be faster (by a considerable amount) then the baseline established by the Citrix, GTB2, Edge, etc.
The same drivers, under the same track conditions will use the esc to make sure the end results are the same. At least when the testing occurs here.

What Rob, Kevin and a few others look for is parity amongst the brands.

good info.
robk: do you think the USGT battery rule will change so if you run USVTA and USGT your batteries that are legal for USVTA but not ROAR approved would be legal in USGT? Maybe something that says 5000mah and below packs are legal, above must be ROAR approved for USGT?

true...my numbers on my motor are crap compared to others...lol..but that's why my motor never gets max motor timing, it makes it slow and hot...my motor likes 35 or lower at 3.7 FDR on most tracks...
The new Boss motor I tried at Halloween Classic and Summit, it wont come alive without max time and lower gearing

The reason other motors are showing up in 25.5 is because of the growth of the class and gain in popularity to the point that ROAR has a VTA format that would allow these motors to be run. Now the number of tracks that run ROAR VTA yields a bigger perceived market than the entire VTA class would have had just a few short years ago.
I could be wrong, but some where I can hear a board member say,"Dang! We need to get onboard."
