Great news from our local track last night. We had a VTA drivers meeting and the 2 track owners told us starting Jan (new points series) there will be TWO VTA classes
1- USVTA...to the T..driver included, which they will stock the HPI ones. No gray areas, no bending..exactly as they are written on the website. SWEET !!!
2- Outlaw VTA. 1450 grams, any blinky ESC,any lipo, any 25.5 motor (no tuneing rotors)
And guess what...largest VTA car count this season 15 cars total. 9 USVTA, and 6 outlaw. Looks like this will grow the class here and a perfect fit for a small local club.

Yeah man, come on out! Racing starts at 6, but everyone starts showing up around 3. VTA class has been pretty strong the past few weeks. Only other classes running at this time are
1/12
Sedan
SCT
F1 (No races yet, everyone is still getting their cars put together, hopefully tomorrow though)

VTA is alive
Last nite summit raceway in fort wayne in had 17 vta for a regular race. I was not there and i know of at least 2 other regs that were not there. we run pretty much vta rules , not too worried about 5000 mah batteries. come join us for some very tight racing ;http://www.summitrcraceway.com

I was cleaning my office and re-read the acticle that ROAR Carpet Nats VTA winner Tony Phalen wrote about "getting into VTA...TC4 Club Racer"...and even with read it several times...he really explains how easy it is to get into VTA per USVTA rules and have a great and competitive car...Im sure its a on-line write-up about it somewhere...Its in Oct 2012 issue RC Driver mag
I think this would help new ppl very much..

We had tons of fun racing with a great bunch of guys in Omaha. The format is single fast lap qualifier, triple mains, all mains count towards the final result. I finished second in VTA, and TQ and second in USGT, with my XRay T1's. There's still life left in those old girls!

We had two heats of VTA racing at Indy RC on Friday night (12-13 cars)! And, a couple of regulars were missing.
Also getting our F1 numbers up slowly. We have about 7 cars now, but not all show up. We have a 4 car minimum to run any class. We got 5 Friday.
Other popular classes for on-road at Indy RC are USGT and Tamiya TT-01. Those had double heats too.
So, it was a GOOD start to the weekend!
