Did you have the same theory, back when it was Novak (IIRC)?

I would add that Gravity is one of the few companies (only?) to consistently step up and deliver.

Nah, it's what happens when you have an honest and reliable vendor.

Because the committee is a party of 1, it isn't you, and you don't get to vote.

Prior to Novak going under there was a spec motor.... this change is only a return to the way it was.

But the 8 spoke weren't the only wheel being used...
https://gotransam.com/news/On-this-D...-27-1967/70754

But most teams switched to 8 spoke wheels around 1969.

Additional information I found on the internet (so it must be true )
Old Race Car Wheels.

I found several references to the 8 spoke Minilite wheels being used in the Trans AM racing series as well as how not stock many of the real race cars were.

I guess we are both right!!

Thanks for the info. I really like the look of the 5 spoke american mag especially without the center cap. Looks wicked! And thank you for the correction, the minilites were 8 spoke, not 10. Here's a few cars from the 1970 Transam race at Watkins Glen all with the minilites:

no thats not what I'm saying, I'm saying not you or anyone else is going to tell me what I can run. At 67 I have accepted that I have peaked a long time ago.

25.5 30 fixed timing
Is this the new VTA spec motor?
Also what is the best driver insert to use?

I do not care if VTA has a spec motor or not, I care that I spent over $400 on 25.5 motors to start a VTA class 10 months ago at my local track and could take the cars and race at any other track. Now to do that I have to spend another $340 and then I have 4 $400+ paper weights! USVTA should have said when Novak quit that there was going to be another spec motor ASAP, not said use ROAR legal motors.

I don't think its really a gimmick when every single one of those $25 motors is hand checked and tuned to be as equal as possible to the rest of them. Labor isn't free!
