I had an awesome day of racing yesterday and my F1R2 was on rails. I'm super excited to finish up my F1R3 carpet car and swap my F1R2 over to the F1R3 version for asphalt. If the new cars are as good or better than the older R2 chassis I will be ecstatic. Keep up the great work!

does anyone here runs thrust bearing on f1r3? any special intructions when installing? thanks!

I think the the exotek racers will say regular bearing is better on asphalt but I'm not good enough to tell the difference so I usually ran the thrust bearing but nowhere as tight as you do on carpet. Try it both ways because it's not hard to change between the 2 options

Thanks!!, Seems like that diff kit is outta stock. Gotta see if my LHS have them or not. Im going to be using the Exotek front suspension kit with the spring dampers so front springs is included in that kit.
I forgot to mention I have F1 spare parts at home so bearings spur gear, tie rods, diff balls are covered. Thanks for reminding me. The rear wing mount and height adjusters I do need to get. Thanks again

It's more of an upgrade to the F104 diff assembly than a replacement because you still need the outer cap and inner thrust bearing/washer as well as diff rings.
Should help balance out the read pod, and less rotating mass.

Lol I just caught this. Another option is also the Exotek diff housing (inner and outer). It eliminates, or combines, the two inner parts of the F104 diff, and also a lighter version of the outer F104 diff.
It's more of an upgrade to the F104 diff assembly than a replacement because you still need the outer cap and inner thrust bearing/washer as well as diff rings.
Should help balance out the read pod, and less rotating mass.

The Car is coming round nicely. I have the TRF F103GT shock and blue alloy steering uprights on order from Japan and should have them soon.

Dose anyone have a good base setup for the F1R3 Aluminum chassis? I will be racing on CRC black carpet with the standard front end with the Exotek adjustable front upper arms. Thanks.

Thanks, I found a place that sells the optional F104 rear diff set so I'll run with this for now. Buying all these upgrades parts adds up

Just finished building the F1. The fit and finish is really nice and the material exotek used is really high quality. I just wish the ride height adjustment for the front is a little bit easier to adjust. I had to disconnect the top arm to gain adequate grip on the shock body to increase or decrease ride height. The holes on the bottom of the shock which Im guessing is for you to insert a pin to turn the shocks, but its still pretty hard to access it.
The instructions isnt as clear at some points and I often had to look at pictures on the website to see how parts went together. For example, there are shims under the "ball joint post" and on the lower arm ball joint for the shock in the pictures, but the manual did not say anything about those.
All in all im pretty pleased, Cant wait to take it out to the track and test it out.
The long ass sensor wire is only temporary until I can get a shorter one.
