Default Exotek EFX - FGX conversion

As promised, I got my EFX all built up and running. Havn't seen anyone post pics yet for it soooooooo......

P.S. The aluminum motor mount and rear cage fit perfectly, with some small sanding.

Looks good. Especially with that shorty in there.

Those are the aluminum front shocks for the rc18. Just used the long fgx damper shaft.

Yeah, it won't fit without sanding. The part in question is the motor mount, the rear post in the exotek kit for the top deck moved forward couple mm. The old mount hole on the 3racing part is not used anymore. Just sand that piece down some and sand down a small alignment peg that is on the underside of the mount. all the holes line up. There is a slight overhang of the mount but so does the servo, so not a big deal.

So I ran my fgx for the first time Saturday. Didn't race as we didn't have enough for an f1 class. My car is a bit of a handful. I think the front end is still to stuff after moving to associated 0.018 1/12 front springs. What is everyone else running in the fe?

I'm running soft silver springs, the hop up 35g 1* camber plate and shorty battery forward. I end up getting about 1mm of front droop out that spring and weight bias combo.

thanks. i might have to pick some up. has anyone done a 3Racing front spring to "normal" 1/12th scale spring analysis?? i have a box of 1/12th stuff that i rather use if at all possible.

my car is doing a violent front end chatter ( sort of like McLaren's from 2011 ) entering the sweeper off power, and in other high speed sections when getting off power. when i press on the front and rear ends -- the front end feels like the over sprung part of the car.

i''ve tried ASC 0.022 and ASC 0.018 springs. i'm running 3 degree metal plate and the front weight. i'm going to try the 1 degree plate --- but didn't feel like removing a million screws at the track as i wasn't racing.

in my rear end i'm running the std shock, 1 hole pistons and losi 70wt. i've tired the hardest and lightest springs -- didn't make that much of a difference. making the springs softer helped -- but not that much.
