Barry Baker showed up today to only make the 4th round of qualifying. With only a few laps on the track, Barry qualified in second and hounded Matt throughout the first half of the race to finish second overall. Barry was certainly hot on certain sections of the track.

I would say that the tray was 1/16-1/8" longer than before...Does that count as "slightly"?

On Friday when Jr. was here doing some testing he gave me a little insite on how to wire and solder the batteries in the JRXS.
1)If you hard wire ( solder direct to the batts. ) you need to attach you battery bars towards the inside of you packs and angle them at a 45 degree angle towards the center of the pack. You will then be able to solder from the upper right hand side of the car between the belt and the upper deck.
2) The other way is to solder the bars on the same as above, then solder euro style connectors to the bar. This will position the connector in the saddle between battery 1 and 2, 5 and 6, then you will be able to push the male connector in from the left side.
Hope this helps.
One more thing. I have seen this car though the development stages for almost a year now and I can honestly tell you that on Friday the car was performing better than I have seen. Jr's was turning consistant laps and the car had no problem going in the direction it was pointed.

i know this is kinda early to make this suggestion since i dont have the car myself to play with, but could you solder the battery bar so that it flips away from the pack and make it any easier to solder to? the only problem would be gettin the pack in (this is where i need some help), how much room is there to 'roll' the pack into the batt. compartment?

Flipping it in shouldn't be possible. You should watch the Video of putting in the battery at www.jrxs.net . Maybe it's helpfull.
I would say Euro Style connectors is the best way of connecting to the pack. I'm not sure if you would be able to say, while driving, if XYs car has Euro style connectors or is hard wired.

The Evicerator
Flipping the battery in is possible with the production car...the opening for the battery is larger and allows for more manipulation of the battery.

More than getting the pack into the car would be a problem, I would think finding a good way to store your packs would be an even bigger problem.
No (production) battery boxes I know would have room for a battery bar bent the other way. At least not bent enough the other way to allow it to clear pass the belt and make soldering any easier.
