I just installed the 2 cell Lipo Cutoff.
The instructions need changing.
1. With the controller switched on, hold down the Lipo cutoff button and switch on the esc.
2. Watch the LED do what it's supposed to do.
3. Go to full throttle and watch the light do what it's supposed to do.
4. Suddenly forget if you have to do anything with brakes|reverse.
5. While holding Full throttle lean over and re-read the instructions.
6. Jump up and hit the ceiling when you car launches off the table.
It's a great product, it might be better if it was in a small orange case with the same footprint as the GTX. It could mount underneath.

You should ALWAYS be conscious of the temperature of your system! If you are geared incorrectly or something goes "wrong" sometimes temperatures can get higher than expected quicker than expected...so I recommend temping your system after every run to make sure everything is in working order.

What are you insinuating?
You should ALWAYS be conscious of the temperature of your system! If you are geared incorrectly or something goes "wrong" sometimes temperatures can get higher than expected quicker than expected...so I recommend temping your system after every run to make sure everything is in working order.
So , i should not worry of any high temp , if it gets too hot and it stops in the street , it means that it has shut down because of the temp ?
I know that i have a original version because it was much cheaper then the others.
So, it maybe has the lipo cut off.

Didn't do a search so I hope this isn't a repete!!
Have a 3.5r, 8.5ex and a ss4300, are the "sensor" ring specific to the motor/wind.
Noticed a difference in them when I put the 8.5ex (sensor) end bell on the ss4300, wanted to replace the black plex end bell. Didn't put the 8.5 sensor in the ss4300 because I had over heated the motor (8.5) and burnt the windings. Also have a 3.5r sintered rotor and end bell on the ss4300.
I race off-road truck.

Sorry about the delay in answering! Just never saw the question!
The sensor assemblies inside the motor between the 3.5, 8.5, and 4300 should all function identically. There have been a couple revisions over the years, but they all work the same.
That being said, don't be misguided into thinking that the rotor is what determined the motor type...ie, taking the rotor out of the 3.5 and putting it into your 4300 will not "make" that motor a 3.5.
The windings for each motor are inside the "can" of the motor and that is what determines what type of motor that it is.
One thing to consider is that the timing needs to calibrated or else the motor will not run optimally.

Steve, I'm hearing conflicting opinions. What is the proper way of temping BL motors, at the endbell or the can? When I temp my Novak 17.5 (with Duratrax Flashpoint), I get 190 at the can and 150 at the endbell. Thanks!

Can a 4 cell GTB be used with a 7.4v lipo in a lower current situation like VTA with a 21.5 motor or off road say in a B4 with a 17.5 or 13.5 brushless?
Obviously if the first question is no I would say this one is no but, does the 4 cell GTB have Lipo cutoff?
Buy looking at the circuitry it looks like the main difference is the number of FET's being used per phase compared to a 6 cell GTB.

Usually I tend to go with whatever area yeilds the highest temperature, in your case it's the can. Some temp sensors seem to pick up temps better off of different materials... it's mostly up to trial and error.

We do not recommend that you use the 4 cell GTB in applications other than 4 cell, but it will work for the applications you have described.
The 4 cell gtb does not have a lipo cut off however, due to the fact it was never intended to be used with a 2 cell lipo pack.
