@indy rc a good friend of mine has a full hardcore racing tc3 and it is dead sexy. He runs it as a drift car.

The ball diff is the better choice so far, but I can't fault them for trying....
In any case, did you try the dc4le at the IIC to see if it went as fast as the losi type R ??? The losi went pretty fast, but it seemed to be pulling to the left down the straightaway.....

We should just abandon the gear diff pipe dream and just build the ball diff correctly. Avid now makes a good thrust bearing to replace the stock assembly, and that gets you 99% there. Off road diffs may fit but they're made of steel, and I doubt there will be a significant performance advantage.

I always wondered why the pros would sand the ball diff steel plates without polishing them last... I also sand and polish the thrust bearing plates, the spring ends,and the thrust bolt head before assembling the diff...
When you add the hudy diff grease, ceramic balls, and blue loctite to the mix, you have a perfect ball diff that will not heat up easy....

As a general rule guys, weigh everything!!!!
I just weighed my old Rc nimh packs and they caused me to lose a lot of races:
* tenergy 3000mah 328grams...
* radioshack 3000mah(10years old+) 379grams...
* Smc 4600mah 450grams...
Thank god for lightweight lipo packs... They saved the tc4...lol........

That's the website, they charge $10 for it and it's for the B4/4.1/4.2 but if I remember correctly the thrust assembly for the TC4 and the B4 were identical, so it should fit the TC4. I have one, I just haven't installed it because my diff is pretty good and I didn't want to mess with it.
On the other hand, if you can find a 2.5mm x 6mm x 3mm thrust bearing for a dollar, give it a shot.

Besides VTA what classes are the TC4 competitive in without breaking the bank? Some of my local tracks don't race VTA anymore.

Definitely USGT. I run mine in 17.5 and do fairly well but I wouldn't run it outside regular club racing in 17.5 personally. Also I run the avid thrust bearing in both my tc4s and my t4 with no problems. Makes rebuilding diffs a dream

The tc4 is great in all classes, but specially great in 13.5 blinky......

BERT's 13.5t fttc4 is about to win countless titles...
All that's needed now is a worlds title... BERT's working on that too !!!..

I think Jeff Jenkins is currently doing great in 17.5 blinky with his dc4le.1 tc4 , that will get much faster if he follows BERT's advice.... Also, my tc4.1 17.5 is setup the same as Jeff's car, but with a full size lipo pack, CF shaft, gsf body, and novak electronics.... I have yet to test my new setup, but I am still looking for a set of titanium hinge pins and turnbuckles to further reduce the weight of my car....
I thought Desert was running his dc4le at the IIC, but he ran his losi type R instead...bummer... If he had run his dc4le, he would have won the amateur 17.5 class for sure, but I can't make everybody believe in the tc4... I am not MORPHEUS!!!..lol...
