Team Associated TC4
Your tc4 weighs 1367g with a 300+gram pack, or a shorty pack ??? My Ft tc4 weighs 1372g with full size servo, heavy novak gtb, full length wires, and rx glitch buster.... I can lose an extra 60 to 100 grams if I use the 2700mah pack(168g) and new electronics, but it won't be necessary... I have no center spline, and a 208g light pack....
@ Indy. I'll trade you an ecxkus for one of those factory team cars. I really want to try a dual deck fiber car out but can't get all the parts and don't think I want the diggity car. Weight wise though my carbon tub car(not carbon fiber) weighs in at 1367 ready to run setup for 17.5 and with transponder I make about 1384 which is perfect. I should think either carbon fiber car should be in the 1330-1350 range similarly setup
FT TC4 chassis componets (chassis, top plate, motor bulkhead & camber link mounts) are 121g
Around 47g difference between a carbon tub chassis and Carbon fiber chassis equiped cars.
If I can get my Ft tc4 down to 1272g-1312g , then my tub tc4 should be able to reach 1319g-1359g, after I finish lightening it up... Remember guys, I am using aluminum diff outdrives, Cf shaft, etc..., so my tc4.1 might be able to weigh less than most other tub cars out there... It's been a real challenge making the tc4 lose weight, but like Oprah, anything is possible....lol... So 1320grams for the Ft tc4 , and 1370 grams for the tub tc4 sounds about right with a 210 gram pack. Lipo packs saved the tc4 and many other old chassis out there...All that's left now is to TQ and win every event I participate in...lol....

1367 is with a 4200 shorty lipo. Depending on which full size pack I run it comes in between 1390 and 1420. My stone stock club car is kind of portly but it weighs pretty close to USGT minimum which is its class so im gonna leave it pretty well alone.

Hi guys comming over from the dirty side of things and am ordering a tc4 club chassie was wondering if some one could give me a short list of things to order with it to run vta or gp1
Whatever brand you choose, get the lightest of everything..... Esc/receiver/servo/battery needs to be light... For example: NOVAK impact esc/ spektrum receiver/futaba bls 551 servo/ Thunderpower 3300 mah 65C (208g) lipo pack.... It's the only way to get the tc4 to be competitive........

gearing and tires
Looking for gearing help for 17.5 blinky and what a good rubber tire for carpet. Thanks

Also, it is highly recommended that you run a fan in spec motor touring car, whether you need it or not it gives you a safety net and more consistent power over the run.
The BEST tires for carpet are Sorex, usually a Sorex 28 for max traction, but they are expensive. Sweep and Muchmore are good as well. If you are racing at an organized facility they may have a spec tire, and if not I would recommend trying to organize a spec tire agreement in the interest of saving a lot of money on tires.
I hope that helps, good luck,

Craig,
Will those fit in a TC4?

I really really hope so
It's always best to set up the tc4 with the lightest stuff possible even if you decide to get a heavier lipo pack for the higher VTA weight limit, but always keep in mind that you won't have to get new stuff if you decide to try 17.5t blinky, all you'll have to do is switch to the lighter lipo pack... You can't run shorty packs in 17.5t blinky or mod, so you'll be stuck with an illegal pack for those classes...Buy a full size battery you can use in all classes once, and call it a day... If not a 3300mah thunderpower, then you can get the 4300(255g) TP that will run in all classes....
If your VTA class enforces a high weight limit you don't have to worry about getting down to 1380. Don't get some tiny pack and be slow as Bert, get the highest power short pack you can and find balance. For the best example of what a tub TC4 can do I would recommend this as an example by Ray Klebanow on page 797 of this thread. Front DCJ's will be hard to find, but the part number is LOSA3344.

Since when are shorty lipos illegal? Yes light weight is helpful but why should you make a super lightweight car to add it all back in and then some to make weight for your class? Your not gaining anything by drilling and grinding away chassis and suspension pieces but a flexy mess.

Dude stop with the false so called know it all posts. You don't need the lightest stuff and last I saw shorty packs were legal. 90% of the post I read in here are ridiculous. Don't listen to Bert he thinks he knows setup but that is all bs.
