Ok back on topic. 17.5 guys where do you guys run your body ride height at? Just high enough not to drag or higher to allow some suspension travel before it drags?
I always run the body so the suspension can compress before it hits the ground.
If you run a Mazda speed6 like I do, you'll have to put your top body pin on the 9th hole(rear), and on the second hole(front) to be legal... Then, you can trim the skirt so the body won't drag too much...

Some of the previous posts in this thread suggested replacing the front cvds with LOSA3344 lcds. Unfortunately, this part number doesn't seem to be available anymore. Are there any other suitable replacements or a source for the 3344s?

As a simple bolt in affair no. modifying your car and other brands of dcj drives may be possible but not alot is known about which ones and what mods are needed to make them work

Here's my new TC4 project. I got tired of dremeling so I made up a quick fixture to throw the chassis in an old bridgeport mill. The sides, center, and rear bulkhead are cut down. I removed the webbing on both sides of the front and rear. I also added a 3/16 slot straight through the bottom down the center wall. I'm curious to see how it will react, I can already tell the mods added quite a bit of flex.

@racer x. What did that take your weight down to? my unmolested carbon car is already underweight for my local tracks. Almost 50 grams for one. And im over 200 grams under vta weight thats a lot of lead to add to a car. And thats carbon tub not carbon fiber

I weighed it before and after and it took out around 16 grams. I wasn't too worried about reducing weight, my goal is to improve the flex. Also, with the webbing removed it adds more room for weight if needed.
What should I run for the gear and pinion on a TC4 with a 6.5 motor on asphalt?
So after looking threw the last 20 pages could really find the answer I was looking for. I have a tekin gen2 17.5, whats a good starting point for pinion/spur combo? Going to run my esc in blinky.

depending on track size you'll want to start with a 4.0 fdr and adjust from there. I believe my car runs 60spur 38pinion which nets a fdr of 3.94. You can also run a 55t spur and drop a few pinion teeth. robinson racing is the gears i use
Nice, is that 48 or 64 pitch?
