Following this advice will kill the hobby/sport.

MY LHS will sell any part to me at Tower's prices. He can get them next day in most cases, whereas it is 3-4 days for me if I order direct.

Since my LHS is also my home track, I give him all the business I can.

I meant your LHS is not going to have tc4 parts, and unless someone goes online, whether directly or through your lhs, it will be hard to find tc4 parts... As a general rule, you do what you want with your money ! You can buy from anybody !!!!!

Here's a printable list of TC4 parts if anyone needs it. Maybe you have it already, maybe not? If so, move along. There's nothing to see here...

Wow! Really? Mine has a couple Club Racers on the shelf and a whole section of TC3, TC4 and other Associated parts.

Even if they don't have it on the shelf we use the internet to look up part numbers and then we email/PM or even just post in the track thread that we want such and such part # and it is there waiting on us the next time we're at the store.

He'll sell me anything at Tower prices. Keep in mind, we both know that Tower isn't the cheapest online store, heck A-Main is cheaper, but that tiny little premium I pay him is worth it to me to keep him in business. He goes out of business, there goes my track...

The other day I asked him which 21.5 motor I should buy for my USGT. He said "here, try this used RevTech I have on the shelf for this weeks race. If you like it, give me $40 for it, if not I'll order you a Thunder Power or Trinity..."

Let me know when A-main does that for you...

Maybe we just have it good...?

I also support my local lhs in new york, but I also enjoy online searchs. I do not advocate being totally dependent on your LHS or the online stores, but you need to diversify instead of falling for everything your lhs tells you. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH TOO !!! FEEL FREE TO PURCHASE FROM ANYONE WITHOUT ATTACHMENTS !!!! ALL MY TC4's have parts from others manufacturers in them too. I don't feel the need to only upgrade to AE parts, and going to the internet has given me more info than any lhs will be willing to share buddy!!!!!

I use the internet. I do a ton of research on the forums and I use the online shopping at Tower and A-Main and RC Planet to find all of the parts first. Then I buy at the LHS/Track and Hobbytown. I'm friends with the owners of the LHS and the Manager at Hobbytown. These guys will do anything to help me at the track and I support them with my dollars.

I have Traxxas and Losi SCTs. I have Tamiya and Associated touring cars. I'm so diversified I don't even wear matching socks...

I am glad to see your fellow racers helping you run your tc4 , but it's been an uphill battle for me here in NY, because nobody else runs the tc4 in the 17.5t touring class... They run xray T3/T4 , AE tc6.1 for the most part, and tease me alot about my dinosaur Car... I learn mostly from the net, and buy tc4 parts through the web and prefer it that way but other accessories like bodies, paint, etc, I get from my LHS....

I'm running my TC4 in the VTA class where it is quite common. However, we do have one guy that runs his TC4 in our 21.5 USGT class and he does quite well.

Of course it probably helps that he is also a race engineer for an IndyCar team...

I run my tc4's in 17.5t/13.5t/Mod(brushed&brushless) . The other racers only want to see my cars in VtA trim too, but I put it on their new chassis and that's probably not going to make me any friends... I've been making huge progress in the setup of my cars, and can't wait for the track to reopen to test my ride. I should make the Amain now this season, last season I only managed third in the Cmain, but that was with a 27t brushed motor not a 17.5t brushless....

I would like to get my son a TC4 club racer. I am racing the 6.1 World's Car. We also race mini buggies indoors this time of year and that is what he is currently racing. I race a buggy as well and they are definitely harder to drive and less reliable than the touring cars which are a much bigger class anyways. I just ordered a motor and ESC. I'll buy the car locally. I have pretty much everything else it will need to get it driving. What are some upgrade parts I should look into? Mainly, what breaks a lot and what should be upgraded for reliability? Thanks!

the Xray Hard bumper has saved my son's (5yo) car from repeated beating into the barriers other than that front hub carriers and knuckles after that a spare set of arms and a set of body posts. Then your good to go.

Do you have to do a lot of cutting and carving to make it fit the TC4?
