Also another good aspect of 80wt oil is that it keeps the Car in a crouched position longer in the chicanes, which lowers the CG for longer through directional changes, while lightweight oils allow the Car to pop back up too Quick, raising the CG too fast, and causing traction roll issues... It's my theory though...lol...

Also Desert, if you decide to make the chassis thinner , post a picture with the new specs... Thanks....
Yes Darth, ride height and droop affect how far the suspension travels up and down, but it does not affect how fast the suspension travels up and down, and that's where the thick oil comes into play.... I ran 40wt before and did not like how Quick the Car reacted, and if you again decrease the droop, it will be even quicker... I would rather have 80wt to dumb suspension movement down alot, and decrease droop to gain responsiveness if the Car gets too lazy.... Just sayin....
I also experienced that chassis rub on the carpet with my tub tc4, but only with rear green springs & silver front springs.... Once I put blue fronts and silver rears, and 1mm droop, no more rub, and more corner speed... The dc4 le is thinner than the tub, so I am sure it will never rub if setup the same as my tub...
Just for the record,
Tc4 tub chassis width: 116mm
Tc4 FT chassis width : 110.3mm
Awesomatix EX : 99mm
Dc4 le chassis width : 100+???mm
Xray t4 chassis : 94mm
Xray T4 Rsd chassis : 85mm
So maybe the dc4 le should be as thin as 84mm !!!

Unless you're going to start using Losi shocks, pistons, and springs... my setup is useless.

Wrong. Even narrow chassis' will still rub. And to be honest I doubt this was your problem . also 80wt oil is a band aid for a bad setup. I see your posts and just shake my head sometimes.

Narrower Chassis that rub at higher corner speed are the ones we need for the dc4 le...... Forget the rubbing part, and embrace the higher corner speed.... I guess an 80mm chassis should be next !!! We need all the possibilities (wide/narrow) out there to further develop the tc4 platform... The thinnest chassis in the industry should be the goal here...

I actually was talking to a buddy last night about other parts to develop as we have had a lot of success with these platforms as of late. now the question is how many of you would like a narrower lipo specific chassis ?? what about a narrow lipo specific chassis with a floating top deck?
Well I am pretty sure lots of tc4 racers will want a narrower chassis that's on par with the other manufacturers narrow chassis, but a big drop in laptimes to be on pace with everybody else is what most are looking for... Hopefully Desert will post his setup to further enlighten us about the dc4 le's strength and weaknesses...
His fastlap was 11.05sec while the top guys did 9.88sec to 10.13sec fastlaps... With a little Work, the gap can be significantly reduced...

I also think that none of the tc3/tc4 aftermarket chassis ever concentrated their efforts on making a narrower CF chassis... Bmi, Penguin, Xlr8 v1, Xlr8 v2, etc, were all wide chassis... I think we need at least One super narrow chassis just to tryout ....

I just received my conversion kit today. I will be narrowing the chassis plate and will post pictures when it is done, probably this weekend.
