lol guys, trust me..the part on the side of the motor mount does nothing at all.....its just extra weight.

also, taking it off allows more airflow around the motor, sounds strange but since i have had my motor mount like this.....the motor has come off ever so slightly cooler.

Can one of you guys post a good pic of where you cut it at? I have an extra mount and I think I will try it.

I will have to look into to doing that. Miht have to use the band saw at work but I will see if I have any buddies that have access to a mill that could cut it for me.

hehe cheers matt

well youve actually seen the quality of the machining and you also have one of my modified motor mounts so you know its worth it

im trying to get my hands on some quality titanium,so i can knock up some goodies for the cars
i got myself a sheet of areospace carbon fibre to make some fancy mounts for my fans.its 2.8mm thick so its pretty strong.

i.ll let you know how i go on

cheers gaz

I know raving monkey has found success milling his motor mount for use on his BMI TC4. If anyone has information about the pros/cons of using the milled mount with the standard tub chassis, we might be able to put Gaz in business. Or at least help me decide whether to send my mount to him

Hey Gaz where would I have to ship them too? Would it be easier for both if you actually just bought a motor mount locally and then included the price?

Just food for thought

gaz, check out rc-mushroom.com

blue motor mount is only $17...might be best to order a few though at the same time, i think minimum shipping is $18 for EMS (arrives in like 3-5 days though)

i wouldn't mind a blue mount

about the fan mounts..where you thinking about mounting them?....how many you planning on making?...wouldn't mind buying one if you were making a few

Default My biggest issue...

with the motor mount is gear selection.

Anyone know if the Square R/C Titanium Universals for the TC3 (Speedtech Part #STC-50SP) will work with the TC4? Also I'll assume there a little lighter and more durable than the aluminum ones? Just want to make sure before spending the extra money for them...
