raced my tc4 1st time 2nite w/ copper in the front and silver in the rear w/ 50weight front. #2 pistons all around . 40weight in the rear. i got 3rd 1st heat. and last 2nd cause the damn plastic outdrives in the front are chewed up. can i use tc3 aluminum ones? btw. and how hard is it to use losi rear hub carriers? i think that is what i was readin is best for touring carpet.

Broke a front arm tonight. lhs didn't have any front arms. So I modded a TC3 arm and to my surprise it worked. Just drilled out the hole for the hinge pin and used a TC3 4degree caster block. Finished racing and got third in the A-Main. Granted the two fastest guys didn't run the main but oh well!

The diffs in the TC3 & 4 are the same.
I picked up a spare set of blocks and put the "O" in the rear.

Have you guys been breaking drive cups? I broke two today after lightly tapping the pipe. I havent broke anything else on the car. I did'nt even pop off a ball cup yet. I never broke a drive cup on my TC3. Did asscoicated cheapen the plastic up to force me to buy the steel ones?

I've replaced three outdrive-halves so far. Two because they got chewed up from having the dogbone pop out and then apparently grind up the outside of the cup...
the other cup just "got loose"... like the plastic gave a bit, making the slot the dogbone slides in a bit too wide, resulting in it just popping out as a result of minor car contact.
I'm thinking of going to the steel outdrives just to remove this as a maintenance item...
Also, broke another rear bearing carrier today, same way, same place... from swinging a corner too wide and hitting the wall while the car was parallel to it.

The plastic outdrives have always broken too easily for me. I quit using them and went with IRS aluminum outdrives 2 years ago.

chewed both of my front outdrives up so bad they cvd's came out . 1st night or racing. I guess i'm goin to steel ones. be nice if AE would send us all steel ones for free. I think the diff balls havea lot to do w/ it because I hurd they were too big.

I have replaced dozens of the plastic outdrives on my TC3. The outdrives are designed poorley and the pins barely catch the end of the outdrive slot. Here is my fix to help this. I cut the pin cussions off of some IRS outdrives and used Schumachers patented blades. They are a perfect fit and I think this will solve the problem. And allow the lighter parts to be used and still be durable.

I'll work on getting the setup I ran at SRS posted on AEs site.
