On my 417X, the only parts I've broken have been the plastic spool cups. However, I've since replaced the standard parts with steel ones. Parts that have a high likelihood of breaking include the arms, c-hubs and rear uprights.

Parts that have worn routinely are the drive shafts. I've noticed wear on my rear diff pulley, but someone's pointed out this is likely because of oil leaking from the diff, collecting fine dust/dirt and having an abrasive effect. Since rebuilding it with some tips from others, it doesn't leak anymore.

I've just converted to the blue side! I use a velcro battery strap on my current chassis. Does anybody use this set up on the 417? Brand? Where to buy? Or is regular tape the popular choice here?

Because you have to stretch velcro tightly over the battery, you are causing your Chassis to tweak. Bad idea for on-road carbon chassis car.

Tape is preferred, no stretch, no tweak, just tape. And if you are one of us Tamiya nuts, you should pickup Tamiya 42201.
