What would people change on this setup to get the rear end to be a bit more stable and have a little more general rear end grip. It has lots of steering which i need to keep as the tracks i race on are very tight.

Thanks

Lower the rear roll center under the arms. Run them flat on the chassis.

Hello,

I figure the setup for the 417 and the 416XL (L for lipo chassis) will be very close. I hear lots of guys run a HPI shock springs on carpet. What is the common spring for 17.5 carpet blinky?

Also I notice that some guys are having a problem trying to calm down the 417 car on carpet. For me going to a softer oil seem to help alot. ( I am using the Tamiya blue and white springs). I always use Losi oil because it is most common at my hobby shop.

Thumbs up

.... Ummmmm...... Like the sticker on the box that says "Bonus parts included".....

....... Plus the HPI springs I use is pink fronts/ silver rear...... Losi oils..... 45wt fr/40 rear...... Sometimes when I use the Tamiya springs, it's white front/ blue rear......

..... Can't wait for the new kit to be out!!.....

Are you guys really feeling differences with a floating servo in stead of taping the servo? And what are the differences?

I suggest you to put 3mm instead of 4mm in the rear, under the link
dicrease the oil weight of the rear diff, remove the anti dive in the front.
lay down a bit more the front shocks. What means front diff low?
I don't know your track but usually on carpet are most used white (front) and
blue(rear) springs

I don't know about a taped servo, but I cannot feel the difference using the floating servo mount VS standard mounts. I am guessing it works. Why would they come out with a part that doesn't work.

Low front diff means the front diff is set at it slowest point. Normal carpet settings dont seem to work on the astrocarpet i race on. Il have a try with all these bits and pieces tommorow nigth while racing.

I always thought the thicker the rear diff oil the more rear traction you get?? but you say to use a thinner oil?

Yes because more traction means that the car has got more capacity to transfer the rotational force of the wheel to the ground, this obviously result in more speed exiting from the corner(in general, better acceleration). But during the corner the car is more difficult to drive because the diff work less and so the external wheel want to rotate as the internal one causing oversteering.
traction is not the grip, especially during the corners, be careful.
PS have you ever tried the spool in front?
