Never short of good rumours without substance around here.....

Won't be long before someone posts release date of Dec '11 and costing $1000USD

417 seems like it will be the car if it gets released. i may have a hard time waiting for this car if the tc6 comes out and is only $390...

Very disappointed in Tamiya...at least put a damn Tamiya symbol on it!!

Can you confirm that the 42185 is identical to the Spec R in every way? Would hate to go to a Tamiya race and be DQ'd.

Yes it is. The diff has the Spec-R labeling on it as well.

Confirmed in every way. I took my Spec-R diff apart, placed it beside the "Tamiya Gear Diff" and all the parts were EXACTLY the same..right down to the moulding marks and Spec-R branding.

Like I said...weak sauce.

I always thought it was Japan too.
the phillipines makes the ABS plastic for Tamiya.. this especially showcase rc toy cars.

try to identify if u have a symbol or any marking stating R.O.C = Republic Of China, the good example is HPI products like the Baja 5B & 5T.

I may be wrong here, but have you guys ever looked at the fujin/3racing cars? The parts similarities and compatibility with the 416 is ridiculous. Perhaps it is all chinese?

Tron, don't worry I am not too hard up for a car at the moment and a couple of close friends said I was basically stupid if I didn't get the 417 and one of them drives for Xray (the other tamiya) plus I was disappointed with the quality of the RC8 compared to say Xray or Mugen ever since Thunder Tiger took over so the brand is not the TC3 that we remember.

So the US release date is still mid January or so?

one noticable thing about the 3racing the aluminium parts are roughly mould or bad workmanship. u can see the physical differences.

it's obvious chinese made rc toyz are so different in quality than ori.
