Tamiya 28T Lightly Tuned motors and Lipo batteries.

Congrats on the great weekend!

On our track the only battles are between the M06s. It could just be because the better drivers have all switched to 6s though. They are just a lot more fun to drive than the wrong-wheel-drive cars. :D

Thanks. Yes more fun!

What is everyone using for inserts to keep the dogbones in place?

I used pink foams that goes into the shock bladders. Cut to the right thickness to avoid binding.

Thanks all! I will try some dense foam cut to the right length, less prone to fall out like my current arrangement. I will probably end up upgrading to CVDs eventually.

To bad those 28T Lightly Tuned motors aren't legal for the TCS race.

I just got a M-06, basic version. Has it been mentioned yet, how the #@$% am I supposed to put a transponder on the transponder stay? At the moment I have stuck my transponder at the front, on the flat part just behind the body posts, but I am curious to know how Tamiya intended the transponder stay to be used.

I am really looking forward to driving this when my local outdoor on-road season starts. Coming from a background of RWD Mini-Z, I could not get used to driving the M-05, so I hope driving this will come more naturally to me.

NOT looking forward to painting the body shell though. Even gluing tires is fun in comparison :<

the transponder mount is designed for club transponders that use a body clip, not personal transponders.

Race day tomorrow. Hope the new tuning bits work. :D

Anything more except the stabilizers?

I wish you all the best, Joel!

Hi Matthias,

Thanks! Just a few small bits to improve stability especially under braking. Last practice session my daughter really liked the car, so if track conditions remain the same, it should be good.

Sadly she lost mini today, no excuses. It was entertaining to watch though, lots of action.

On a good note, she won the premiere GT Class for today. To my knowledge probably one of the youngest to win a race in the tough GT category.

Hey there guys, yesterday was our once a month meet.. I raced GT10 (scale touring car) and GT12F (scale mini 2 wheel drive)

The turn out was poor and the race coordinator threw 2 other cars in the race, one was a 1/16th Micro AWD and the other was an Xray AWD with standard TC tyres.. was much faster than the rest of us

I edited the lap times to show the 2 M05 versus my M06. Our driving skills were pretty much on par. Even though I placed last, laps 10 though 18 show that when Im able to put down consistent laps, I was as quick as the 2 other M05s.

I need Porscha to teach me to start consistent and finish consistent :D

Have fun,

We had the exact same thing happen two years ago - most of the top drivers switched to M06's. Everyone has since switched back to M05's, for the simple fact that the M06 is difficult to set up and drive consistently as the traction comes up over a race weekend. Our rule set includes Tamiya tires, and we race on ozite carpet. They are fast when set up properly, but that is usually limited to a single night club race. I had the same issues with the M04 waaaaaay back...
