The rear weights help a lot! Without them you tune the car to make ensure rear traction and reduce oversteer, at cost of understeer. With them installed, you no longer have to worry about rear traction, so you can focus on adding front grip/ steering. I also ran the 1 degree hubs and reduced dual rate to 60% to minimise traction roll.

Tamiya will hopefully release these weights as a hop up option.

Thanks Matthias.. I had the same challenge in TC class with my 416. Car is dialled but I'm just not fast on the infield. I need a lot of practice time to become faster

Hi guys,

Yesterday was Round 5 of our Tamiya Asia Cup. My daughter's M06 set the fastest laps for the day, qualified 2nd, finished 2nd overall.

Congrats Porsha and Joel, it´s so good when the invested time to develop the car shows success! That is medicine for all M06 lovers, which have to take a lot of punishment from the FWD mini lovers.

Did you use some R-spec hopups?

fastest lap must feel very good, I guess?

I also thought about increasing the camber again for the last main, but I was so busy running 17,5 t in parallel, so I have to wait for the next race.

3-Racing restocked the gear diffs for the M06.
I already placed my order for my spare car.
These have been out of stock for a while now,
guess they will be sold out rather quick again...

As I was asked via PM,
I made up a setup sheet for my last race.
This was the one I made my best lap of the weekend. Most of the setup is completely R or Pro, just some small changes, which I had before converting the shocks and axles to R-spec.
The lower shock position is also from th R-kit, forgot to make a note in the sheet. (anyway we need a setup-sheet for the R) Tamiya, please...

I know this feeling, I wouldn't be able to pull this off without some help from my friends. I am running VTA and F1 as well as Mini. I also have my daughter running VTA.

Where did you order the gear diff? I would like to try one.

I have the ball diff now but i run it so tight & it works well but it bothers me

I have been searching & i cannot find the bearing size for the gear box.

Bearings for the gear diff are 1510.

The rest of the gearbox is 2 times 850, 2 times 1150.

I bought an M-05 ball diff for mine but I haven't installed it yet.
I'm beginning to wonder if it was a waste of money since the car runs so well with the stock gear diff in it.

The M05 ball diff is the best diff for this car. It reduces the rotational mass and helps with acceleration

Jim, maybe you´re right. I have to say I never tried the newer M05 Ball diff up to now,only the Ta03 unit. It worked well in the beginning, but then came a time where it came loose, although I secured it with Loctite. Maybe the pressure discs gave up and got weak. It lasted quite long, nevertheless.
But when the gear diff came out, I knew that this was my choice for my races.
I wouldn´t have the time to change the diff in my M06 without missing a run in between. As you are even more busy than me on a race day, I guess you understand that.
The gear diff is so nice for me, as it makes my Mini reliable and a fun car. Put the battery in, and off you go. What I also like a lot are the blades on the outdrives. 3-Racing did a good job on this part...

As mine is run in in the meantime, I´m thinking of going to a thicker oil like 2000cst, at least for our grippy carpet track. That will give even more drive out of the corners, I guess. And this is hardly to realize (consistent over time) with the stock gear diff. But you can have good results with the stock gear diff in the beginning with the AW grease, like it is recommended in the manual. But it will get weaker over time.

Hmmm, I guess I'll have to get around to putting it in one of these days.

I didn't put any AW grease in it. In fact, the only thing I used for lubricant was powdered graphite. The diff action is really smooth.
