Does anyone run shock limiters for a lower CG? I'm thinking of lowering my M06 and was wondering what everyone has been running?

Not sure what you mean by shock limiters for lower CG?

Do you mean putting spacers on shock piston inside the damper cylinder?

Thats usually done as a substitute for droop screws since these cars do not have droop screws on the suspension arms.

If you look at step 19 and 20 in manual (page 12 / 13) you will notice that you do install V11 spacer in rear and V3 spacer in front

I have done that per the instructions. I'm just wondering if anyone has added a little more? My car seems to lean alot entering the corner.

what springs are you running ?

MUDVAYNE 03-04-2012 04:44 PM

Kit springs that came in the pro kit. Blue #600 in the front (mediums) and red #200 (softs) in the back.

I'm just finishing up my 06 pro, did anyone else have to shorten the upper front camber link? built to the instructions it was way too long.

I got the carbon towers and sway bars to have some tuning options, need a good low grip setup..

Sway bars should address that... Im presently running without them myself, looking to give to try them out soon.

Guess you didnīt built per instruction, and forgot to cut the plastic parts before measuring the distance...

I do both, running on stabis and internal spacers. Currently running medium stabi front, last time rear without, normally soft in rear. Shock length from end of the eyes to another currently 57mm. So I was able to reach the Minimum ground clearance for our carpet race 2 weeks ago. (5,2 mm).
I also have to reduce roll, as I run the beetle body...

Matthias

I run the Giulia GTA body and I noticed that on tight turns the front inner wheel was lifting.. It actually put a huge grin on my face, because the real one did that!

Yeah I figured it was something like that, but the link WAS the same length as the picture, and still would have produced a lot of positive camber, I shortened the turnbuckle and used a shorter cup..

Tamiya is releasing new carbon front and rear towers for the trf dampers.. (54361 & 54362) The original carbon towers don't work with the TRF dampers?

i am building a m06 and m05 for tcs racing, i cant get a pro version as they are out of stock , for the mo6 what are the hop ups i need to make sure i have to be ready to race fully? does anyone have a starting point set up for pavment and or carpet?

flat4 04-17-2012 06:25 PM

upgrading the shocks is a good idea. that's all I have so far, I will be finally be able to race mins after a year its been built.

Madulla 04-17-2012 07:39 PM

You need the aluminum rear upright as it breaks very easy and the shock tower to go with it.
