I bought a used TC6 and was going through it to make sure how it was built. Its seems that for the most part the kit instructions were followed. Since I've not ever raced a TC6 I thought I would put on the stock kit setup in the back of the manual. The setup on the car was already pretty close. I did have a couple questions though.
1. On the Suspension Geometry section it calls for "Silver + 0" on the front outer ball & shims. What is "Silver"? Does it come in the kit? 2. On the Alignment section it calls for the Steering Link to be "2B". Is "B" the outer bumpsteer location? Whats is the "2", the pivot point? Car will be run on Carpet with Rubber Tires and 17.5 blinky class. Thanks for any help. Silver is the ball stud........it means the long neck ball stud. Black would mean the short neck ball stud. 2-B means the outer location on the steering knuckle and the steering post is in the rear hole in the chassis/top deck |

Essentially, if the rating is X g/1mm, multiply the value by .05595, which will give you the lb rating (per 1 unit of measure). Edit: Apparently HPI makes quite the variety of springs! |
Just got my car today...
i must say I'm very impressed feels so solid!
Here are a list of things including and on the car, tell me what you think I'm missing? Also what are some of the surplus items i should have on deck? Front slipper build with white nut. Smooth Rear ball diff with carbide balls. PDBillet Dial-A-Grips on all 4 corners. (0's in rear and 2's front) Reflex pistons and bladders in all 4 shocks. Freshly rebuilt with AE 40 front and 30 rear. (Shock spring retainers marked for easy setup.) Kimbrough 96t spur. Fresh bearings. Car is built with 4* front caster and 0* rear. Both black sway bars and 1 gold included with all 3 sizes of plastic clamps. Front belt is a Tamiya and is 1 month old. Rear is brand new. Only ran on carpet so chassis is in good condition. Will throw in 5 used sweep 30 tires. Brand new manual. 2 droop gauges. (car is set at 6 front and 5 rear.) new set of servo horns, 2 full sets of arm carriers with alum inserts. Thanks Daryl |

The fact that important spares such as arms, steering blocks, hubs etc for the 6.1 are out of stock is the main reason that is holding me back from grabbing a new TC6.1 kit.
I assume the reason for the delay could be a revision of the material used in these parts to rectify the excessive play people are experiencing in some suspension pieces ? |

I agree. I also don't like the fact that some major parts are not in stock. I do have a 6.1 and 6, but some weeks ago I broke my spool and still no parts in stock. I took my 6 again, just so that I could drive at all. Come on Associated, fix it!

The rates for the springs actually used, which are the Yokomo Pro springs (white with a blob of coloured paint) and the HPI Pro4 springs (black with a blob of coloured paint), are as quoted by Steve. There are a lot of incorrect rates being quoted so be careful which ones you believe!

i have a slight rock on the passenger side front and the drivers side rear, I'm assuming its not squared! what screws would i adjust to straighten and flatten the chassis?
