about steering post again.... just checked it today (after yesterday race) and i can feel there little loose...??? Is that normal? Wasn't b4 like that... 4 runs car and got loose on steering??? Dont know what is the problem. Looks like bearings are little too small or they are worn after few races. Anyone have the same problem?

The TC5 had a notoriously undersized center steering post, and even with fresh bearings was sloppy as all heck. The TC6 post/bearing/bellcrank fit is 1000 times better. |

One thing you can also do is take a Dremel cut off wheel and put a small + on the bottom of the servo post. We do it on the Xray too. It helps the post bite into the chassis. That way if you take the top deck off it doesnt break the post free from the bottom screw. Just the top screw will come out.

There is no lower screw on the TC6 the steering post is trapped between top deck and a plastic insert that houses the lower post. I'd advise against dremeling the lower post because of this, you may gouge and loosen the lower plastic housing. Needle nose on flats work fine. ;)
With that info forget what I posted! LOL EA |
Question on setup ...
I have a mmp speedo and a tp 17.5 turn motor. What gearing? (6900 kv castle now. Not fun to drive) Also if I wanted to put a hotter motor in what would you recommend? Third and final... What are the best tires/rims for carpet? Thanks Eric |

Thanks Eric Check what is used in your club before making another buying, but anything under 17.5t will be faster. again I am not familiar with Mamba, but a 17.5t with variable timing will be fast enough, or try a 10.5t for good speed. Not racing carpet here so sorry no help here. |

Not fun to drive) Start around 4.0FDR, check temps, and go from there Also if I wanted to put a hotter motor in what would you recommend? How much can you hold? Racing or bashing? Anything lower turn will be "hotter", but you have to change gearing. Third and final... What are the best tires/rims for carpet? Sorex, hands down, but lots of other things work. Sweep EXPs, Solaris, Muchmores. If you're racing, or intend to race, go to your local track, make some new friends, and ask what's working there. Thanks Eric |
