From our experience last weekend at the February freeze Race in Dallas, we tested the Gear diff up front with a boosted 17.5 and 300,000 cst on high grip carpet, the car lacked steering vs the slipper spool set-up. We settled for running the slipper spool. The gear diff will probably require some more aggressive adjustments to get the on power traction the spool gives.
All in all it was a great showing at the race for me and my buddies running the TC6. We finished 2nd (David Joor) 3rd (myself) and 4th (Ron Atomic) with Mike Dumas taking the win. Considering this was our first race out with it, and the fact that our 3 TC6's were all within 5 seconds of Mike's qualifying time it is safe to say the cars ran awesome! In the main, David finished about 6 seconds off of Mike and I managed to stay on the lead lap 2 seconds behind Dave, with a TC that had a severe understeer going into tight corners.

Were you running a gear diff in the rear? If so, what diff fluid?

Succesful Multi-jointed CVD Setups on TC6?
I am looking to have people post how they have modified their TC6 to run different multi-joint drive shafts including Xray ECS, HB DCJ, Spec R, etc. I am still running the stock universals but have the newly revised Litemodz TC6 CVS universals on the way. I have seen the Side Piece racing outdrives for the Top spool but have a few questions on making them work with ECS universals like: What Caster blocks and how did you make them work, what steering blocks, bearings, etc.
Also, I have 5X10X3 bearings that I could put in the TC6 steering blocks which would allow you to use others axles. Can you then make work with any multi-jointed universals by just modifying the caster blocks and spool outdrives?
So if you have successfully ran multi-jointed universals on your TC6 please post your setup and if it improved the car.
Type of CVD and size:
Spool and mods:
Caster Blocks:
Steering Blocks:
Hexes:
All mods to make it work:
Did it improve the car and lap times:
Thanks,
Troy

TC6 owners,
Please share your experiences, both good and bad, with the car so far. I'm particularly interested in people running Mod on asphalt... does the car wear out particularly fast? What kind of parts are you replacing on a regular basis? How does the car handle in general? Do you feel the craftsmanship and longevity of life is directly related to its cost?
Seriously considering this car this year strictly because of it's price. Thoughts?

Most reports are that it's pretty solid in terms of setup and wear. I think the craftsmanship is good but not Xray/Tamiya level, however it is significantly less expensive then both of those kits, so I think it’s justified.

Everything else is good, to say that the build quality isn't on par with tamiya or xray is not really correct. Everything is straight and is well cut just like every other machined car. I didn't have to rethread bulkheads or dremel anything on the initial build and I just ran the tight ballcups a couple of times and they were fine. The shocks build well, they do not leak and the bladders do not seem to break easily.
They were kind of cheap in not including the 10.8 type screws everywhere so half of your car will have screws without letters on them and are slightly lower quality and you may need a screw or two from your collection. The blue titanium turnbuckles make up for that for me though and a lot of people will probably swap out to titanium anyway plus you get the hard coated shock shafts that previous cars were missing.
