True USGT would be 2WD, tenth scale pan cars with 200mm width instead of slightly-different-stock-touring-car

I'd be down if we decided to change things over to DTM/BTCC shells on touring car chassis. USGT bodies are mostly the La Croix fruit flavors of the scale body world. Just a hint of the original intent of the class.

I am finally hanging up my Cadillacs. Hopefully they will be more competitive for outdoor for me, I am now running a twinkie like everyone else......I also miss a field of awesome looking GT3 style cars!

All TT01 or TT02 Tamiya chassis. The wheelbase on the Porsche body used is 251mm. I wish that it was 257mm.

While it's not ideal, it's hopefully not as noticeable. You can see how I centered the rear wheel arches correctly, but then shifted the front forward a few mm. This was mounted to at VBC Racing D09.

Great looking car. I have seen the Porsche cup stuff at Cal Raceway. Looks like a great class and the cars also look great. I think other forms of the hobby have seen how scale appearance can affect peoples involvement, hopefully the trend continues into more onroad classes.

We have a TT02 class locally, but unfortunate I think the rules were a bit too open. This allowed some runaway performers and attendance was down the last couple times out. I hope it improves again soon.

We restarted M-Chassis at our club as well, allowing 2WD chassis from 3racing and XPress, open 21.5, open tyres. At present body rules is open as well, a few are running mini bittydesign etc.. if it grows then I will push for legit body rule.. not look alike .

When those accurate LMP shells started appearing, it made me so happy. I love LMP, and now they can fit any 1/10 chassis made me smile. So much, I bought three of the Ferrari 499LM shells from Mon-Tech.

Can someone please help explain what the USGT body rules are? Are the ones on the list the only ones approved for this class?

Bittydesign says the WING on the Ahura meets USGT specs, but the body itself isn’t even listed on the approval list (I think I’m looking at the correct source)

thanks

If you are going to a sanctioned event, the body list that you will find at U.S. Vintage Trans-Am R/C Racing Series in the USGT rules is the rule. For a club race, talk to your race director.
