USGT is going fun and strong! We had 30 at our last few 'club' race and surely would have had more if we didn't have a racer limit.

Usgt class is very strong...

I popped one of my balloon tires at Cal Raceway 😂

So I'm back to a newish set, they are indeed slower yesterday in San Marcos. Best I could do was 20 laps. How can I get the last three laps? My q1 and Q2 result were the same, at 19 laps, but I managed to pick up lap 20 at race pace. I appreciate any tips. The car is built and maintained well so I'm focusing on myself, finding time out on the track.

if you are a fan of the USVTA, and Vintage Trans-Am racing...you need to be here in Sept for the largest USVTA event, with 70 signed up VTA cars and 54 USGT cars... The 2021 U.S.VTA Nationals ...The One Not To MISS!

Find a carpet guys who wants to trade his used sets for your new sets :D

The good thing with your newish sets is they still work really good at Cal and will be really worn in and ready for San Marcos soon after.

Thanks Mike, they're actually just starting to groove on the inside and getting a decent air gap after about 10 runs.
I am thinking of racing a second category next Sunday so I have twice the track time instead of sitting around for hours not getting better...

The usgt body rules have been changed. After seeing some recent trends, i wanted to let everyone know there won't be much tolerance for stuff like the sherock

I am a FWD racer and even i think that thing is a bit of a stretch... would be really nice to see the class go back to real licensed GT bodies only across the board.

So guys I have a question is it legal to replace the bearings on the usgt motor by gravity with ceramic bearings? at our track we are fighting for 4 to 5 tenths among say the top five guys one guy went and bought several us TT motors and changed out the bearings and was able to get almost a thousand more RPMs out of it he is currently our leader I personally believe the boaters should be required to be run as they come out but everybody knows in this hobby people will do whatever it takes to get that little extra edge just like in real racing so my question is is illegal to change out the bearings since the motor is rebuildable it does have none adjustable timing thanks for any input.... This is the gravity RC usgt motor
Also would that be legal for roar or has roar not even addressed this issue for this particular motor as we have a large roar race coming up in a week

chjosi 07-04-2021 02:50 PM

Seems illegal based on the "Spirit of USGT" Rule. Everyone else is controlled, except him. DQ.

That’s a crummy thing to do.

RKeasler 07-04-2021 03:10 PM

It's a spec motor so that would be cheating and a dick move regardless

3TurnRacing 07-04-2021 06:29 PM

I believe it even says in the ROAR Rules the the USGT Gravity motors can not be messed with. Defeats the purpose of having the “SPEC” motor if your Tracks Race Director is allowing him to change bearings
