Merry Christmas to all our USGT friends....

mschumi101 12-27-2017 01:37 PM

Just finished up my first USGT body, the McAllister MX Stang. I think it looks great! Probably my best paint job to date, all rattle cans. I wanted to keep the car painted my favorite color, orange, but keep it realistic. I based the paint as a mix of this Trans AM mustang:

and Matt Dibenedetto's All Star scheme:

I'm Excited to try it out on my new (to me) Xray T4'17. It's only 6 degrees here, so a little cold to go outside for pics, anyway here it is:

Mschummi101, if I could paint a body that well, I'd charge everyone else a dollar a day just to live! Fantastic job!!!!

KaaaBOOM! That's a great looking McAllister body! You sure you want to run that? I'd have to leave that one on the mantle for a while...

I've got two McAllister bodies I bought at my LHS. Hoping to airbrush this weekend, but its so cold that it will take a while to warm up the garage with a space heater until its tolerable.

Hey Scott....Can't wait to see the new bodies!!!
I know they will be awesome.

Haha, thanks! Means a lot from a great painter like yourself. The more I look at the body, the less I want to run it! I might need to pick up another body for practice while I sort the new car out. And luckily I have the perk of a heated garage, so I could still paint in this 0 degree weather! haha, paint fumes needed some clearing though...

I haven't had a chance to race at Hadley in the last year and a half. I haven't raced much RC in the last year in general, not enough time with school, karting, and FSAE. I'll hopefully be able to make it to the Hadley race in January, and make it out to WCRC when available in the new year. Excited to run some USGT!

Of course, he did start with an absolutely AWESOME body! :D

PS You need to make the trip down the mountain, our new surface at ASR is outstanding. Come run USGT and VTA with us.

Hi Glenn- Thanks. I do plan to come down sometime in January. I've already converted my 17.5 car to the Spec GT class. Can't wait to get on the new track. I was disappointed that you didn't get up here last Summer.

Thanks, I'll post photos when done. :)
Its supposed to be 13 degrees BELOW zero on Sunday night. So, maybe they wont happen this weekend. That's crazy for even Indiana!

My son and I started this thing with new bodies... We have "show bodies" that are new, and "GO bodies" that we race. The newly painted bodies are show bodies until I get over the work required to make them (usually about six months). Some, I never want to run! It's too hard to find the time to paint them again!

Awesome looking paint, and love the fact it looks like a car on the track. That is huge to me in spec classes
